Skipped fight

Wasn't it really Mike Bernardo who had to skip a fight with Bobby due to injury? We need a citation. 218.49.116.218 (talk) 06:28, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Age

It has been revealed that Mr.Ologun is actually 39 at this time rather than 33 as he was required to surrender his actual age to the police during his recent arrest. Details located in this article.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 218.180.46.27 (talkcontribs) .

It sounds like this article was written in Japanese then translated to english. The wording is awkward. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.183.93.122 (talkcontribs) .
The Japanese wikipedia article is quite different, so it's not a translation of that. But you're right, the wording is off. Perhaps the original contributer is not completely fluent in English? Incidently, to anyone who cares: I never once bought the whole Bobby-can't-speak-Japanese-if-his-life-depended-on-it act while I was in Japan. The mistakes he makes are just too sweet to be true. I think it's all an elaborate act. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 213.172.254.16 (talkcontribs) .
I'm not a big fan of his considering part of his act is a self-demeaning caricature. Apparently, the money is *that* good for what he's doing if he throws away his dignity and throws fists at his agents for it. He might know exactly what he's saying in Japanese, but that incident shows he can't read a contract.

Cleanup Needed

I've flagged this article for a clean up because it plain looks like it needs it! The introduction seems a bit shabby and it seems to frequently introduce new people and things without properly explaining them, for example: "Taking advantage of watching a fight by Bob Sapp vs Taro Akebono in "K-1 Dynamite!!" on New Year's Eve in 2003, Ologun tried judo on the program. (In passing, he got the black belt in an exam to get it)" Is it just me or does that not really make sense? This isn't a slander on the work that's gone into the article, and far be it from me to critisise but this needs to be sorted out, I feel. --TheCooperman 22:26, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I know there's a lot of junk English, but I'm not going to tackle these articles until everything's been cleaned up on the Japanese owarai side of owarai. There's also many sillier people adding and removing facts from this page, so it'll be harder to keep it maintained even if it was cleaned up.  freshgavinΓΛĿЌ  05:39, 19 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Original writer

I think the original writer was Japanese and passed the Japanese Wiki article on him through Babelfish, hence the nonsense that was originally up here. Neoyamaneko

Hello, Mr. Neoyamaneko. I made his first article on English wikipedia. I'm from Japan but I'm not good at English. I'm so glad that you often improve and correct his article. Thank you! By the way, what languages are you able to understand? (Japanese?) --211.15.48.50 01:48, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

For me, watching Ologun is like watching a train wreck. You try to avert your eyes, but the morbid part of you forces you to keep looking. I was able to get much of the information on him from MMA news stories and from his blogs. I'm interested to see if he makes a comeback, and if he can do it without the self-denigrating minstrel antics. Flubbing your lines is one thing, flubbing them and then contorting your face to look like an ignorant golliwog from the celluloid of yesteryear is another. BTW - I can speak English and Japanese and can read/understand Spanish. Neoyamaneko

Nice to meet you, Mr. Neoyamaneko

Hello, Mr. Neoyamaneko. My name is Hatto. I live in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Please answer to me in Japanese language if you can speak Japanese and can write Japanese character by using your computer because it's easy for me to speak Japanese. I have a request to you. Its request is article's expansion! I really thank you because you often improve and update Bobby Ologun's article. --Hatto 12:12, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There is rough translation's article. I'd like you to make it clean English and additionally, to expand the article. Please answer. --Hatto 02:25, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Please stop moving editing, removing, and moving to places where they will be irrelevant, the comments of other users. It is considered very rude to remove someone's comments in a talk page, as you have been warned multiple times before. And I suggest to you politely, again, that you should limit your private discussion with Neoyamaneko to his talk page, where he will be more likely to answer you.  freshofftheufoΓΛĿЌ  06:18, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Official Blog

It appears his manager shut down the blog a couple of months ago and turned off the posting function, but people are hacking the blog and posting about sex related things on there now.

Fame by Gaffing

Is it me or is this section a little insulting? It just seems to be making fun of the fact that his Japanese is imperfect. Surely other aspects of Bobby Ologun's character are more important and relevant?

== Royce Gracie fight

He has had a fight with Royce Gracie which does not appear in his MMA record in the article. It probably should, unless it was a non-professional fight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKrtftWhIiM
