Genius

Are there any words or so that back up that he is a genius? Like, how he is diversified with different music styles all the time. This is a serious question. Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.112.121.67 (talk) 04:46, 15 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Bruno Mars band

Should we make a topic on his page that references his band? They have been together in the first tour and in the upcoming tour they will be together again. I believe i can find reliable sources about this topic on the web.

Which Name Is Correct?

The IMDB says his birth name was Peter Gene Bayot Hernandez, Wikipedia says Peter Gene Hernández - anybody know which is correct? AncientBrit (talk) 08:59, 23 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No accent mark in Hernandez

Although in Spanish, Hernandez is spelled with an accent mark, it does not belong in Bruno's real name. Here's why:

1. Other Members of his family don't use it

http://www.facebook.com/pages/E-Panda-Eric-Hernandez/125194514216062?sk=info

https://twitter.com/mrEricHernandez

2. The accent mark is not used on sheet music when he is credited under his real name, and music notes includes accent marks when neccesary.

http://www.musicnotes.com/sheetmusic/mtdVPE.asp?ppn=MN0071566& (this is the exact same diacritic that Hernandez has in Spanish, so the diacritic in Bruno's name is not omitted for technical reasons, it is omitted becauase it is not how he spells his name)

3. When he was credited as Bruno Hernandez in Honeymoon in Vegas, it was not used.

Can someone please make this change for me? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.201.16.254 (talk) 14:57, 10 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Done Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 01:31, 11 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Accent mark in Hernandez

The accent mark in Hernandez was added back in. See the above section for why it is incorrect. It looks like the same user addded it back in. Please leave a warning on their talk page. 12.180.227.126 (talk) 15:09, 28 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hernandez is an hispanic name which should have an accent mark, but it depends on the family name. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FlyingLion15 (talkcontribs) 00:27, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Of course Hernández is an Hispanic name, but your second clause is false, see "Cameron Díaz" as an example. I reverted to "Hernandez" again, there are not references about the accent. Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 03:23, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Changing Bruno Mars picture. It's been 3 years since it's been taken and it got to be updated. He's got a new style now.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.143.104.216 (talkcontribs) 21 May 2013

I don't know where to leave this comment, so I will leave it here. If you do a search on "June" you will find that in two places the date of his mother's passing is listed twice, with two different dates. One is June 1 and the other June 2. Please look into this. Thanks! ~T. Hudson.

Waiting on the other side

I seem to remember hearing this song as the credits rolled on a recent movie but can't remember which one. Does anyone know which movie this song was included on a Soundtrack of? 163.192.12.3 (talk) 09:06, 7 July 2013 (UTC)John M. O.[reply]

Does he really need a legacy section right now?

I'm just curious because sure he's had a lot of success and what not but shouldn't we wait until he is further in his career and makes more of a cultural impact or something? I don't know, just sayin'.

No, he doesn't. It's repetitive, full of fan cruft and basically silly for an artist who isn't even five years into his commercial career. If we don't get a sensible argument that lays out a reason why it should stay, I'll personally remove it, so whoever created and/or has been editing it needs to say something in its defense. - The Real One Returns (talk) 16:34, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you think is repetitive edit what you think is being said twice or three times. I think we do in only three years he has been able to achieve marks that other artists in ten years weren't able. If we start now the legacy section it's easier to edit all the landmarks - MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 20:44, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

His mother is Filipino

"Mars' mother immigrated to Hawaii from the Philippines as a child, and was of Filipino descent."

I don't understand this part of the biography. Was his mother simply born in the Philippines?

Suggestion, "Mars' mother is Filipino, she immigrated to Hawaii when she was a child.HardyandTiny 09:17, 29 July 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hardyandtiny (talkcontribs)

Or, if the woman has passed "Mars' mother was Filipino, she...."HardyandTiny 09:23, 29 July 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hardyandtiny (talkcontribs)

Ethnicity and nationality are two different things. Both of Mars' parents are Americans.-- OBSIDIANSOUL 12:00, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate.
There are several ways to do edit a semi protected article:
  • Usually after 10 edits and 4 days, you will become WP:AUTOCONFIRMED, and can edit the page yourself.
  • To use the {{edit semi-protected}} tag, as you have done here, you need to provide the exact details of the proposed edit, and supply reliable sources to support the change(s). Another editor can then make the changes for you, if the details are ok.
  • Alternatively, you could request at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection that the page is unprotected for all users. On heavily vandalised pages this request will often not be granted.
Feel free to supply details and source(s) and reactivate this request if you have specific change(s) to propose.

Labels

I just want to know if we should include all the labels in wiki? Even those that he doesn't belong anymore?
