To report an error in content currently or imminently on the Main Page, use the appropriate section below.
- Where is the error? An exact quotation of the text in question helps.
- Offer a correction if possible.
- References are helpful, especially when reporting an obscure factual or grammatical error.
- Time zones. The Main Page runs on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC, currently 08:40 on 2 November 2024) and is not adjusted to your local time zone.
- Can you resolve the problem yourself? If the error lies primarily in the content of an article linked from the Main Page, fix the problem there before reporting it here. Text on the Main Page generally defers to the articles with bolded links. Upcoming content on the Main Page is usually only protected from editing beginning 24 hours before its scheduled appearance. Before that period, you can be bold and fix any issues yourself.
- Do not use {{edit fully-protected}} on this page, which will not get a faster response. It is unnecessary, because this page is not protected, and causes display problems because this is not a talk page. (See the bottom of this revision for an example.)
- No chit-chat. Lengthy discussions should be moved to a suitable location elsewhere, such as the talk page of the relevant article or project.
- Respect other editors. Another user wrote the text you want changed, or reported an issue they see in something you wrote. Everyone's goal should be producing the best Main Page possible. The compressed time frame of the Main Page means sometimes action must be taken before there has been time for everyone to comment. Be civil to fellow users.
- Reports are removed when resolved. Once an error has been addressed or determined not to be an error, or the item has been rotated off the Main Page, the report will be removed from this page. Check the revision history for a record of any discussion or action taken; no archives are kept.

" that the tiles of the Sutton Heritage Mosaic were affixed with flour and water glue"? I don't think so. Someone must have misunderstood the installation process, this sounds like standard Indirect Method, well described in the article mosaic. The tiles are glued, face down, on backing paper, then the whole sheet is transferred to the prepared wall, and finally grout is applied to fill the space between the tiles. Flour glue for an outdoor installation sounds highly, highly unlikely. COuld someone check the reference please and pull this? 67.255.123.1 (talk) 04:29, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
- It does seem dubious. the article says they were affixed to the paper with sand and water glue, but this was washed off and the mosaic was grouted. Offline source so can't check it beyond this.--JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 05:06, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
- Pulled this misleading hook, Stephen 05:10, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
- The hook just wasn't specific. I'd recommend restoring it, but replacing "affixed" with "initially affixed to paper". MANdARAX • XAЯAbИAM 06:06, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
- Since this hasn't been done yet, let me be more specific. The amended hook which I suggested is not "unlikely", "dubious", or "misleading", but instead describes a step in the standard method which is used for creating large mosaics. Please see Mosaic#Indirect method. MANdARAX • XAЯAbИAM 06:43, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
- Whatever the reasons without even looking at the article or with the OP's better understanding of mosaics it clearly was wrong. I don't think here is the place to try and come up with a new hook; if it's to be attempted it should be sent back to DYK where there's the expertise and process to do so.--JohnBlackburnewordsdeeds 06:54, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
