American actress and recording artist Selena Gomez has released one studio album, one compilation album, one extended play, five singles, (including two as a featured artist and four promotional singles), and twelve music videos. In 2008, Gomez first signed to Hollywood Records and began working on material for her debut release. Gomez hoped to have a band, though her label hoped for her to remain solo due to Gomez already having a fan-base; the two parties compromised, with Gomez naming her band Selena Gomez & the Scene. The group's first album, Kiss & Tell (2009), peaked inside the top ten of the Billboard 200 and was certified Gold by the RIAA.[1] It spawned the commercially successful single "Naturally" (2010), which went on to sell just under two million copies in the United States. Their second release, A Year Without Rain (2010), had a similar success with sales, and spawned two moderately successful singles.

Gomez and her band began working on their third studio album that same year, resulting in the release of When the Sun Goes Down (2011). The album became the group's highest charting album on the Billboard 200, and was their third album to be certified Gold by the RIAA.[1] The album also gave the group their highest first week sales, though went on to become their lowest selling album to date. The album spawned three singles, with the first two singles becoming worldwide hits. The album's second single, "Love You Like a Love Song" (2011), went on to be certified 4x Platinum by the RIAA.[1] Following the success of the album, Gomez announced the band would take a hiatus while Gomez focused on her acting career.

Gomez returned to the studio in 2012, announcing that she had begun working on a solo project.[2] The result was Stars Dance (2013), which debuted atop the Billboard 200 with sales of 97,000 copies.[3] It was preceded by the release of its lead single, "Come & Get It" (2013), which became Gomez's biggest hit to date in numerous territories and went on to be certified 3× Platinum by the RIAA.[1] Stars Dance became her first album to not receive an RIAA certification.

Having spent six years with Hollywood Records, Gomez signed a new recording contract with Interscope Records in 2014. To officially end her contract with the label, Gomez released the compilation album For You on November 24, 2014.

On June 22, 2015, she released the single "Good for You", which serves as the lead single for her upcoming second studio album, Revival.
