i'm about to merge all ghost int he shell albums, is there any objections to this? Reason why i ask is just that i saw you edit on megatech body and since there are a few images in there, i thought someone might get mad if i removed them when i merged all the albums in one articleBread Ninja (talk) 18:31, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

First World War/World War I

Please don't change "British" articles to use World War I - the British usage, as defined by the titles of the Official history is First World War, though World War I is now used almost interchangeably, but per WP:ENGVAR either is acceptable. The change you made on John Fisher, 1st Baron Fisher also made the usage in the infobox inconsistent with that in the rest of the article. David Underdown (talk) 09:45, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Romanization for words of English origin

On the MOS:JP talk page, a discussion has been started about including or not including romanizations for words of English origin, such as Fainaru Fantajī in Final Fantasy (ファイナルファンタジー, Fainaru Fantajī) (for the sake of simplicity, I called this case "words of English origin", more information on semantics here).

Over the course of a month, it has become apparent that both the parties proposing to include or not include those romanizations cannot be convinced by the arguments or guidelines brought up by the other side. Therefore, a compromise is trying to be found that will satisfy both parties. One suggestion on a compromise has been given already, but it has not found unanimous agreement, so additional compromises are encouraged to be suggested.

One universally accepted point was to bring more users from the affected projects in to help achieve consensus, and you were one of those selected in the process.

What this invitation is:

  • You should give feedback on the first suggested compromise and are highly encouraged to provide other solutions.

What this invitation is not:

  • This is not a vote on including or excluding such romanizations.
  • This is not a vote on compromises either.

It would be highly appreciated if you came over to the MOS:JP talk page and helped find a solution. Thank you in advance. Prime Blue (talk) 11:30, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Etchberger article

Thanks for the help on the Article. I think its stabilized enough now that we can start building it up to GA or better. I think its at or close to a B currently so it shouldnt take too long to get it to GA. I don't usually deal with images and video content but I was thinking about adding the images from his USAF bio for the Lima site as well as the video of the Presentation to the Commons. Do you think that would be ok? Also, there are some other videos done by stars and stripes and a couple of other (mostly interviews of His wife, kids and a few of the survivors) what do you think about those? --Kumioko (talk) 20:56, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

USC Sanctions

You removed the following quote from several articles. Is that warranted? I don't know if it has come under intense criticism from all college football pundits, but it has been roundly criticized by many. Moreover, Ted Miller is well-regarded NCAA football writer. 94.175.120.179 was not expressing his own opinion, but quoting Miller.

These sanctions have subsequently come under criticism from college football pundits. As ESPN’s Ted Miller wrote, “It's become an accepted fact among informed college football observers that the NCAA sanctions against USC were a travesty of justice, and the NCAA’s refusal to revisit that travesty are a massive act of cowardice on the part of the organization. That's the take of all clear-thinking people.” [1]

I have toned down the quote to make it less NPOV, as follows, and re-inserted it in some articles.

These sanctions have been criticized by some NCAA football writers, including ESPN’s Ted Miller, who wrote, “It's become an accepted fact among informed college football observers that the NCAA sanctions against USC were a travesty of justice, and the NCAA’s refusal to revisit that travesty are a massive act of cowardice on the part of the organization.”[1]

The article List of Record of Lodoss War locations has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:GNG

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Request for permission of using the photo "Towing a minivan" in a press article

Hello BrokenSphere,

I'm a journalist (free lancer). For an article in a German horse magazine about towing cars from a meadow or a field I would like to use your photo of a Mazda minivan (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Towing_a_minivan_06.JPG). Can you give me permission to use this photo? And what reference / acknowledgement of copyright would you want me to use? Would be BrokenSphere / Wikimedia okay for you?

Thanks a lot in advance for your answer.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
