Reliable sources
I have found over 100 citations among reliable sources. Clearly notable
This person is not a minor, which may be a complaint against having an article.
Baron Trump is far less notable as is Patrick Kennedy, but both have articles.
This person has also been recognized by Time Magazine, so she is an award winner.
It's about time that this biography be in Wikipedia. Shorwak (talk) 22:34, 27 November 2016 (UTC)

Within seconds of creation, two administrator wiped out this article. Why such a heavy hand. There should be calm discussion.
It is suspicious when there is such heavy action. Maybe they think President Obama wants a news blackout? He never said that.

- At least one of said editors is watching edits by new users and noticed that it's established at Malia Obama that there should not be a separate article for her. So, that's why the article was quickly undone. —C.Fred (talk) 22:45, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
- Please assume good faith. We disagree with you, and the appropriate place for discussion about a separate article is at the existing article on the family. Acroterion (talk) 22:46, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
- I assume good faith if there is some discussion, not just heavy handed deletion within seconds. So far, it is good that there is discussion allowed, which supports good faith. Let's continue that way. Shorwak (talk) 22:52, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
- And note that I've started a thread at Talk:Family of Barack Obama#Split for Malia?. —C.Fred (talk) 22:47, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you C. Fred. But note that removing this article and having a theoretical discussion there is very flawed because people would then be commenting based on a hypothetical article that they haven't seen. Also others could not improve on it. It would be like asking people to comment on Cecile Gray Bazelon (a random obscure article) but not seeing the article. Shorwak (talk) 22:51, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
- Not quite true. We already have an article that covers Malia. The question is whether she's best covered within that article or split off. —C.Fred (talk) 22:53, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
- If I paste this article there, it will look very disruptive. But thank you for allowing this article to remain for 7 days as the tag says so that there can be discussion. Shorwak (talk) 22:55, 27 November 2016 (UTC)

- Comment -- this is a extremely poorly written article and should be deleted. K.e.coffman (talk) 23:16, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
Should this be an article?
Let's examine notability. I need to read up on it. I agree that initial knowledge of this person is because she is a daughter of a famous person but let's look at famous relatives that made it on their own. Can we look at Wikipedia articles???? Shorwak (talk) 22:54, 27 November 2016 (UTC)

Baron is only 10. He doesn't work at the embassy. How about Michael Reagan? Samswik (talk) 00:31, 28 November 2016 (UTC)
On second thought, she is a lightweight so my feelings are a weak keep. Samswik (talk) 00:51, 28 November 2016 (UTC)
Redirect
I redirected the article to Family_of_Barack_Obama#Malia_and_Sasha_Obama while this is being discussed; this article is not ready for main space. K.e.coffman (talk) 23:22, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
There are far worse articles in mainstays so I have undone this.
Also found some references in an earlier version. Samswik (talk) 00:25, 28 November 2016 (UTC)
