Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence
I made the changes separating out the murder theory material into its own section. It is a much better structure. However, the same unencyclopedic conspiracy-theory material remains - badly supported.
Extraordinary incendiary claim - thin unreliable reference
The murder theory put forward by Ted Gunderson falls under the category of requiring much much more evidence. The material in the newly segregated "Disputed Circumstances of Death" section is extraordinary and is supported by only one reference. That reference (Gunderson) is unreliable.
Ted Gunderson is unreliable
A quick look at Gunderson's site www.tedgunderson.net should make it clear that here is the very definition of "Conspiracy Theorist".
- 1) Wikipedia requires reliable references. Gunderson clearly is not.
- 2) Wikipedia is not a forum for putting forth the myriad of marginal conspiracy entertainments. Call me "CIA" if it thrills you, but this stuff is not encyclopedic.
Given the past efforts to summarily revert the removal of this material, I seek commentary. If I see no (non-crazy) commentary against removal after a reasonable period, I will remove it.

- I cleaned up some of the language on his death to make this less "conspiratorial" sounding, but agree that the alternate theory needs MUCH more evidence in order to leave it in. DFS (talk) 00:13, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
Sonny Bono Memorial Highway & Concourse
I have noticed that a section of I-10 in California is labeled as the Sonny Bono Memorial Highway. Should this be added somewhere to the article? Here are a few links:
- Interstate 10: The Christopher Columbus Transcontinental Highway
- Interstate 10 California
- Sonny Bono Councourse added to Palm Springs Airport
- Join California - Sonny Bono
I am sure there are many more that can provide documentation if needed. Refiner (talk) 02:06, 29 January 2014 (UTC)

Chaz
Per Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Biographies, "If a person is named in an article in which they are not the subject, they should be referred to by the name they were using at the time of the mention rather than a name they may have used before or after the mention." So Sonny had a child named Chastity (later Chaz), and was survived by Chastity. Kendall-K1 (talk) 12:42, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
There is a difference between "using a different name" and being trans. It is common within the trans community to NOT use birthnames when referring to someone before they transition. On both Laura Jane Grace and Caitlyn Jenner's pages, they are referred to with her pronouns even before they transitioned. Therefore, Chaz, should be referred to as Chaz Bono, nee Chastity,

High School
The Detroit Free Press says he went to Denby High School in Detroit,[1] but that seems unlikely if his family moved to LA when he was seven.[2] Kendall-K1 (talk) 01:16, 29 May 2016 (UTC)
