Planned Changes
Hi! I'm Pomphreyhm, I plan to make some additions to this page over the next few weeks. It's for a class assignment, all edits will be complete by 11/12 (that's the due date). I'm just getting started with this project now, there probably won't be any substantial additions for at least two weeks. Thanks in advance! I specifically intend to add additional information about how Haring's sexuality influenced his work. User:Pomphreyhm/Sandbox/Keith Haring
External links modified
Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Keith Haring. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

Article Critique - Needs more citations
Hello! I'll be doing some edits and critiquing this article for a class assignment. I believe that the article needs more citations in certain sections, specifically in the section titled "AIDS." This is a very large section with a lot of information, but has only 4 citations, all from the same source. If more citations were included from a larger variety of sources, the section would seem more reliable and trustworthy. Throughout the entire article, there is a nice use of many different, reliable sources, but this specific section does not seem to have enough citing for the amount of information it provides. Secondly, the section titled "Influences" that introduces the discussion of Keith Haring's work being influenced by sexuality and AIDS seems a bit biased. Although it introduces the section, it does so in a way that is slightly opinionated. The introduction uses words like "important" in description the subject matter of Haring's work and also mentions that one of his works is "almost universally agreed upon" as being HIV/AIDS activism. Those phrases are not supported by facts and while they summarize the preceding information, they seem to be coming from the biased viewpoint of someone who respects Keith Haring and views his work as being extremely important. Although I also value Keith Haring's work, I don't think that these statements are neutral enough. One could use the introduction to state that a particular critic or art figure talked about Haring's work and claims that his piece Silence = Death is in fact a piece about HIV/AIDS activism, but merely stating that it is "almost" agreed upon is not supported by any facts. Otherwise, all the links seemed to be working and all the citations are correct. Thank you! TaylorSchroeder (talk) 05:04, 26 October 2016 (UTC)
Religious background?
The "Early life and education" section includes this statement: "In Haring's teenage years, he left his religious background behind...." But there is nothing in the article that discusses his family's religion, or that indicates that his family or upbringing was particularly religious. The quoted statement should be supported with additional information or removed.—99.26.130.45 (talk) 23:35, 13 July 2017 (UTC)
