Dhadak (transl. Heartbeat; Hindustani pronunciation: [d̪əʱɽək]) is an upcoming 2018 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film directed by Shashank Khaitan, produced by Dharma Productions and Zee Studios and stars Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter in lead roles. The film is a remake of the 2016 Marathi language film Sairat.[2][3] It is scheduled to be released on 20 July 2018.

Cast

Plot

The story is based on the 2016 Marathi language film Sairat,[4] however, this version will be set in Rajasthan.[5] This love story explores how the protagonists deal with issues like differences between castes and honor killings. [6]

Production

The film was announced when the producer of the film, Karan Johar unveiled three posters of the movie on 15 November 2017. He released another poster on the next day.[7] The principal photography started on 1st December 2017 in Udaipur.[8] The trailer was released on 11 June 2018.[9]

Release

The film was scheduled to release on 6 July 2018, but was postponed.[10] The film is scheduled to be released on 20 July 2018 in India and overseas.[11]
