Professional wrestling pay-per-view event series
The Mae Young Classic is a professional wrestling women’s tournament produced by WWE , an American–based promotion .
WWE announced that a women’s tournament would be taking place in the summer of 2017 at a press conference during WrestleMania 33 weekend. There will be a total of 32 wrestlers competing.[ 1] The name of the event is in honor of the late WWE Hall of Famer Mae Young .
In April 2018, a second tournament was announced.[ 2]
