A tag has been placed on Sunil Gupta (CA) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Hello Harsh7agl. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, and that you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to Black hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Harsh7agl. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Harsh7agl|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, please do not edit further until you answer this message. Template:Z159 GSS (talk|c|em) 07:27, 27 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hey GSS (talk|c|em)

I was aware of the policies but didn't know them in depth. While I am not being compensated for editing, thanks for sharing those so that I know how to disclose the same in future via my editing if someone does pay me for it. The page Trisheeta Tej is a notable subject. In fact, a different editor added further and added her early life which in my view was not so relevant (neither there were many strong sources to cite because of which I avoided it myself). The article Said Mhamad was a photographer I started following and decided to make a page of (which I regret now). I do feel it should be deleted and hence didn't participate in the entry of article deletion. I thought adding more of his details (like DOB, Picture and instagram link with 1.4 Million followers) will add credibility but I was wrong. I think I am myself learning on what can qualify as notable and this is definitely an important learning ( I sometimes get too stubborn which is bad of course!!). Nonetheless, thanks for taking out time and marking this comment here.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Said Mhamad requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from {{{value1}}}. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Disclosure required

Information icon

As previously advised, your edits give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Harsh7agl, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Harsh7agl|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. Template:Z160 GSS (talk|c|em) 15:14, 29 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hey User:GSS

I did respond stating that I am not being compensated. Apologies if I wasn't clear about this. I only started editing again after I responded (2 days ago). I waited yesterday to check if you would respond on next steps. After I didn't hear back, I assumed that I can move my articles back. Can you guide me on next steps? Not sure how I can prove that I didn't have a financial stake.

There is some outer-wiki evidence that confirms that you are being paid to edit Wikipedia and you must disclose who is paying you, who the client is, and any other relevant role or relationship. More information here. GSS (talk|c|em) 15:25, 29 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hey User:GSS

I don't exactly understand what is the outer-wiki evidence. I hate to bother you but can you enlighten me on this? I read the policies but the page doesn't talk about understanding the outerwiki evidences. Please do guide. Thanks!

Hey User:GSS

I have added the template at the top of my talk page (if that helps the wikipedia since my contributions look paid!).

Outer-wiki means some evidence out of Wikipedia e.g. Google search, also, please don't move articles into mainspace yourself; it is better to use the AFC process to get your draft reviewed by an experienced editor per WP:COIEDIT which state you should put new articles through the Articles for Creation (AfC) process instead of creating them directly. Thank you. GSS (talk|c|em) 15:45, 29 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hey GSS (talk|c|em)

I am still not very sure what it means and how a google search indicates this. Nonetheless, do you suggest that I create the articles that have been moved to drafts again via AFC?

Maybe you should try Googling your username, to see what I mean. GSS (talk|c|em) 15:47, 29 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. GSS (talk|c|em) 15:49, 29 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hey GSS (talk|c|em)

Thanks for the input on the signature. Will keep that in mind. I did google search and my profile on freelancer came up. That indicates I write stuff. But that doesn't indicate that I do paid wiki. Nonetheless, can you please advice on my existing articles that are in drafts. A lot of time goes into creating a page and seeing efforts wasted is no good. Do you suggest that I submit them again via AFC?
