Existing article??

Surprised that no article exists on this large Fund. If this duplicates an existing article, ping me or something.E.M.Gregory (talk) 23:33, 25 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Bias

Currently the article is very biased and not objective. There is no statement about this from palestinian authorities for example, only links to some specific media. Wikipedia should attempt to find more sources for the claim in particular because Israel claims that the EU funds terrorism, so this is a very delicate topic. 2A02:8388:1641:4700:BE5F:F4FF:FECD:7CB2 (talk) 14:38, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've added an NPOV tag and added it to the WP:Palestine list of articles for POV editing. Will have a crack at sourcing some of those claims more fully over the next week.TrickyH (talk) 01:00, 12 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • There is, in fact, a statement from Mahmoud Abbas, it's been there since long before the assertion by the anonymous editor above. If editors see POV issues, please be specific - it is impossible to fix issues based on vague assertions, and suggest specific edits that you perceive as useful.E.M.Gregory (talk) 18:42, 25 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Here is a POV issue "In 2010 (or 2014), the mounting criticism of the payments led to the PA transferring management of the Martyrs Fund to the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), which now disburses the government-funding to terrorists and their families" not all recipients are terrorists. It is very clear in the article that some of the money is paid to prisoners of non-terrorist crimes in Israeli jails, for instance. I changed to the more neutral word "recipients", but was reverted. 2600:1700:1111:5940:D9F6:63D1:857A:104 (talk) 16:07, 13 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Two Pinnochios

Does the Palestinian Authority pay $350 million a year to ‘terrorists and their families’?

The Washington Post's Fact Checker by Glenn Kessler gives a number of useful clarifications for this article.

Per WaPo it depends on how you interpret "who is a terrorist". The 350M$ should be attributed, and we should say it was criticized by WaPo who said that an estimate upwards of 100M$ is reasonable.Icewhiz (talk) 07:35, 19 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
