Mission: Impossible 7 is an upcoming action spy film written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie, and starring Tom Cruise, who reprises his role as Ethan Hunt. It is due to be the seventh instalment of the Mission Impossible film series.
Cast
- Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, an IMF agent and leader of a team of operatives.
- Henry Czerny as Eugene Kittridge, the former director of IMF last seen in the first Mission Impossible.
- Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, an IMF technical field agent and a member of Hunt's team.
- Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust, a former MI6 agent who allied with Hunt's team during Rogue Nation and Fallout.
- Vanessa Kirby as Alanna Mitsopolis, a black market arms dealer also known as the White Widow.
Additionaly Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, Shea Whigham and Nicholas Hoult have been cast in undisclosed roles.
Production
It was announced by Cruise on January 14, 2019 that the seventh and eighth Mission: Impossible films will be shot back-to-back with McQuarrie writing and directing both films for July 23, 2021 and August 5, 2022 release.[1][2] In February 2019, Ferguson confirmed her return for the seventh installment.[3][4] In September 2019, McQuarrie announced on his Instagram account that Hayley Atwell has joined the cast for the seventh film.[5] In September 2019, Pom Klementieff joined the cast for both the seventh and eighth film.[6] In December 2019, Simon Pegg confirmed his return for the film, with Shea Whigham cast for both films.[7][8] Nicholas Hoult would be added in January 2020, along with the addition of Henry Czerny, reprising his role as Eugene Kittridge for the first time since the 1996 film.[9][10] Vanessa Kirby also announced she was returning for both films.[11]
Filming will commence on March 2020, in Rome.[12]
Release
The film is expected to be released on July 23, 2021.[13]
