Draft: Madhava Wijesinghe ( Actor, Presenter, Director)

This is the first article I am trying to create since he is a worthy character for Sri Lankan society. When I write this article I got some ideas form similar peoples page. I really appreciate your time on this and trying to educate us how to write neutrally. Please give me some of the examples in my article which is not neutral and which is neutral. Then I will go with your experienced judgement and correct my writing style. NG Feb 04/2020 Nandasiri Gunaratne (talk) 22:36, 4 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Roshan Doug page - Reading like an advert

Hi, I am the creator of a page you recently declined for sounding like an advertisement. I was wondering if you can clarify which sections in particular sound like this and what needs fixing the most so that I don't waste my time re-submitting it pointlessly. Many Thanks, BiteWright (talk) 17:23, 7 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you & welcome advice

Thank you for review of Draft:Avery Yale Kamila. I'm new to this and have had two articles accepted without issue. Any advice on improvements for this one? I've got another in development and want to stay on track.--BrikDuk (talk) 16:50, 11 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

More than half of your sources are unreliable, not coverage or just listings. I'm not in agreement that the other two should have been accepted but that's not really the issue here. Praxidicae (talk) 16:50, 11 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Got it. Thank you. I think I was too careful to cite where dates and other specific details came from and linked to autobiographical profiles on less reliable sites. I'll go through and improve the citations. What do you think about "provocative columns" mention? Remove it? --BrikDuk (talk) 17:57, 11 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I've cleaned up the citations inDraft:Avery Yale Kamila and resubmitted for review. I appreciate your help and constructive feedback. It was very helpful. Thank you. --BrikDuk (talk) 15:07, 12 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Praxidicae, hope you are doing well. Just wanted to let you know I added a WP:G3 tag to Universty of Georgia Fairburn which you previously tagged. Thanks! -- LuK3 (Talk) 18:38, 11 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

reliable sources?

You wrote that my submission of a little known but very important Civil Rights era murder lacked reliable sources. Is the New York Times unreliable? The encyclopedia of Arkansas unreliable? https://law.justia.com??????

What exactly constitutes a reliable source? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.128.116.70 (talk) 21:38, 11 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Permission to contribute as editor

Hi,

It was remarked that I was an undisclosed paid editor in Wikipedia, which is not true. I research in a few areas, organizations, and persons in every day of my work. I have had found lot of useful information and profiles o Wikipedia which had helped me a lot in my research. Meanwhile, I had found that prominent people were not on Wikipedia, who deserves a little information to be listed on Wikipedia. In this purpose, I had found enough trusted sources like digital newspapers, publishing and print media sources from which I had gathered information and structured it as per Wikipedia standards and created pages. In these cases I had not received any compensation from any organization or person in creating these pages. I am voluntarily contributing content to Wikipedia whom I found missing in this. In case you believe it as plagiarized or promotional, it will be considered and will thoroughly check before updating on Wikipedia for the future edits.

Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by KerryBuch (talkcontribs) 08:35, 12 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please restore my books

You have eliminated all my published books, including books published by St. Martins Press, High Times Press and Trine Day Press. Yes, I have some self-published books (most of which are free) but I also have some very influential books and a big fan base. I self publish now because it's a way better deal than working with publishers and it is wrong to remove all my books under the guise that these are not important. Obviously, you have read zero of these books or you would have some appreciation for my hard work.

Self published isn't published for this purpose. Praxidicae (talk) 15:05, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am not a "paid agent" I am the author.

My first book Hip Hop went through four printings. Yes, now it is self-published but it remains the best book on the origins of hip hop and is widely read today. My second book, Art After Midnight, was published by St. Martins Press and is considered the definitive guide to the East Village Art scene still today. Yes, it is now self-published. My third book, Adventures in the Counterculture was published by High Times press. My fourth book Octopus Conspiracy was published by Trine Day. Neither of those two are self-published. I have deleted almost all the self-published books, but a couple of these are important and people looking me up should know about them. Your nuking of all my published works is highly unfair to me and to the readers of this site.

You may not edit articles about yourself. So please stop. Praxidicae (talk) 15:21, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am not "editing" I am attempting to stop my famous books from being removed. For your edification, here are some reviews of my first book.

Please keep your spam off my talk and do not mass copy and paste stuff. As the subject of the article you may not edit it. You may ask for changes VIA THE TALK PAGE. Praxidicae (talk) 15:33, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Reviewer newsletter February 2020

Hello Praxidicae,

Source Guide Discussion

The first NPP source guide discussion is now underway. It covers a wide range of sources in Ghana with the goal of providing more guidance to reviewers about sources they might see when reviewing pages. Hopefully, new page reviewers will join others interested in reliable sources and those with expertise in these sources to make the discussion a success.

Redirects

New to NPP? Looking to try something a little different? Consider patrolling some redirects. Redirects are relatively easy to review, can be found easily through the New Pages Feed. You can find more information about how to patrol redirects at WP:RPATROL.

Discussions and Resources
Refresher

Geographic regions, areas and places generally do not need general notability guideline type sourcing. When evaluating whether an article meets this notability guideline please also consider whether it might actually be a form of WP:SPAM for a development project (e.g. PR for a large luxury residential development) and not actually covered by the guideline.

You moved one of my articles to draft

Hey saw that u deleted my article , I have enough articles and they are all legit articles , there’s enough citations I want u to take ur time and look at the article please , also my other article already went to draft submission idk if this a personal matter but please check before any additional edit Kayla4175 (talk) 16:35, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No the sources are far from legitimate. Please respond to the paid inquiry on your talk page before editing anywhere else. Praxidicae (talk) 16:36, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

hey Praxidicae I found those articles from the Wikipedia Editor resources new tab , but you said it a fake news site can you tell me how to find out if they good or not please so I can better search ? Also I have found two articles for Draft:Success Jr can you take a look and see if they good enough please Kayla4175 (talk) 19:07, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The reason I nominated it is because no other sources exist, so there's no way to guide you to something that simply isn't. Praxidicae (talk) 19:08, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

What about his verified Instagram account ? I seen so many approved articles with just YouTube links as references he has many videos and his Instagram is verified Kayla4175 (talk) 19:10, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Social media is 100% irrelevant wrt notability. Praxidicae (talk) 19:11, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
And the fact that he's verified on twitter is completely irrelevant and even if we did allow instagram as a source for notability, it woefully fails WP:V since there's absolutely nothing that can be verified via a private account. Praxidicae (talk) 19:12, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

What about YouTube videos ? I seen many Wikipedia articles with only YouTube links as references Kayla4175 (talk) 19:15, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

And the page being private I believe is a personal choice since there so many famous celebrity who constantly put they page private after they announce upcoming projects which I believe is a fast way of gain more fans etc Kayla4175 (talk) 19:16, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Any further discussion about this can take place on the article's talk page, I don't have any advice for you as he simply is not notable. Praxidicae (talk) 19:17, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Well thank you again for you help , hope you have a wonderful day happy Valentine’s Day Kayla4175 (talk) 19:39, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback

[1] and [2] were probably inappropriate uses of rollback. I know it can be easier to just hit the single button sometimes, and I've probably crossed the line a time or two myself, but those edits certainly weren't vandalism, let alone blatant, so unless there's some backstory I'm missing, please be more careful. –Deacon Vorbis (carbon • videos) 19:33, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

COI

Hi Praxidicae, my article has been aceppted and published, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonio_H._Castro_Neto. However, there's a tagging "This article may have been created or edited in return for undisclosed payments, a violation of Wikipedia's terms of use. It may require clean-up to comply with Wikipedia's content policies." This is not true as I am not paid at all to write this article. I know the person, that's why I wrote an article about him, I know that he fits the notability criteria, but I definitely did not get paid to do it. I edited the article several times just to make sure it will not sound promotional, though the subject is about him, just to make sure that it wont be biased in any way. I have provided all sources to my writing to make it verifiable. I just wrote it, they are facts. Please consider reviewing and removing the tagging. As a reader, if I see this article with this tagging on top, it will create instantly a negative wrong impression on me (thinking it might be biased as it is paid), but it is not. So I find it quite unfair for the subject to be exposed in this manner. Thank you for your time. Marilen.buenviaje (talk) 03:19, 14 February 2020 (UTC)Marilen.buenviaje[reply]

I have added the declaration on my userpage, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Marilen.buenviaje. Kindly check when you have time. Thanks.Marilen.buenviaje (talk) 09:59, 17 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bullets, Fangs and Dinner at 8

Apologies if this film fails WP:NFILM. Since the page is 3 years old, I am wondering if the rule for notability changed? I was under the impression that a theatrical limited release of a feature film was eligible as long as the release date was not in the future. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Viapicante (talkcontribs) 17:20, 15 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Abou My Account

Hi dear, how are you? this is my account user:Ahmadqatari

was Globally blocked

Someone, Admin in Arabic wiki is haets me He is Palestinian, He blocked my account on all wiki versions I want to get my account back, I created 20 articles on this wiki and they were all accepted And I didn't make a mistake can you help me and thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ahmadalqatari (talkcontribs) 08:30, 17 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Can you help me, please?

I want to ask you questions about developing regulations because I have a problem with the opening of the title, even though I have done what the relevant explanations want to tell.

First of all, I have a lot of actor friends, so I don't want to edit their pages but it creates a commercial perception. This doesn't seem right to me at all! Knowing them closely means that I will have more information about them. I also cite all of the arrangements I made. Because I know them, it is easier for me to reach the accuracy of these resources. In addition, the sources are not reliable, but the sources I have shown are media organizations such as Cnn Türk and important newspapers. How did you still ask for the right source when you cited them? I ask you to help me develop Wikipedia correctly.

The magazine resources I have shown have also been used on other pages. While these sources are not considered as insignificant sources on these pages, it is really sad to be considered insignificant in the sources I have shown.

The series of my fellow actors, whom I tried to give information about, is published in more than 10 countries around the world and I think that there should be an English article about them. I provided sufficient information about his family and business life through secure sources. What kind of information should I give other than that, can you enlighten me?

I had to write to you because it was in the headline that I should speak to you. I hope I can get the most accurate information from you, as you are the intervention.

Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by My Life's In Your Hand (talkcontribs) 12:46, 17 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy Deletion of Narayan Jewellers

Hi, you have pasted a tag on speedy deletion on Narayan Jewellers. However it has sufficient reliable links which makes it eligible to be on wikipedia. If you think the language I used seems to be unambiguous advertising then I can change it. I will appreciate your reply. Thanks Poojasharma20 (talk) 01:37, 19 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Holy shit

Can we just blacklist all those on your /fakenews page? Some of those have huge numbers of hits and are absolutely obvious spam aggregators. Guy (help!) 20:28, 19 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

when I get home (aka not mobile) I can make a quick list of ones that we can absolutely blacklist, there are 6 on here I think we need to go back and look at internet archives for the original source (vermontrepublic is an example of one). I’ve got more to add too. Also for some fun, take a look at this to see what I mean when I say fake news. Saw your contributions on some of my AfDs & pages where I'm chasing after SEO spammers & stopped by your page. Very entertaining after a day at work. I'm just curious, and please feel free to tell me to feck off if you don't care to answer, but from the articles you mention I'm wondering if you're a fellow Marylander? Looking for second opinion on likely NN & COI article

I'm just reaching out to get another editor's opinion regarding an article that I believe is both promotional and on a non-notable subject and I have noticed you do a good job at recognizing promo/nn articles. I came across the Potterless podcast article after tagging an article on it's production company, Multitude Productions, for speedy deletion. I originally tagged it with notability, sourcing, and COI tags but SPA editors have removed them a couple times. I am likely going to nominate it for deletion but just want to make sure I'm not missing anything. Much thanks, GPL93 (talk) 17:40, 21 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I agree and it's probably worth filing an SPI on the half dozen SPAs there. I can't comment beyond that though. Praxidicae (talk) 17:49, 21 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Draft: Kary Oberbrunner

I keep trying to add a picture for this person and I know it is added correctly, but it keeps getting deleted for no obvious reason. Last deletion was done by you. Can you clarify it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by JohnKnoxvile (talkcontribs) 19:24, 21 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I did discuss it before removing a merge notice from Shilah Phillips

When you click the button to discuss it, it takes you to Talk: Miss Texas , so I left a comment there. I had also, back on January 18, posted my reasoning for not merging to Talk:Shilah Phillips. Since nobody else has made any comments for more than a month, I figured nobody else was interested. I found quite a few more sources since then also.[1][2][3][4] HouseOfChange (talk) 20:18, 21 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't get paid to write it

Hi Praxidicae,I absolutely don't have any financial take in it, I'm a blogger so I might have got carried away using some flowery language. Will make amends and remove anything that proves otherwise, but I definitely did not get paid to do it, the subject is an African American making strides and impact.
