Second Battle of Idlib

[edit]

5x expanded by EkoGraf (talk) and KajMetz (talk). Nominated by George Ho (talk) at 20:50, 4 April 2015 (UTC).

ALT2, though it is long, it is eventually clearer and more specific. OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 07:56, 2 May 2015 (UTC)
Don't you think that you have used a long quotation and it is not very specific to the event? One that begins from "it is not true..." and ends with "..forbidden for us to enter". OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 08:01, 2 May 2015 (UTC)
  • Full review needed, including length, newness, and all the other DYK criteria. BlueMoonset (talk) 13:57, 9 May 2015 (UTC)
Notified the nominator. OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 17:28, 9 May 2015 (UTC)
New enough (as expanded), long enough, QPQ done, no copyvios found. I don't like ALT0 (second battle of what?), ALT1's a bit boring and although ALT2 is a bit long, is the best of a bad bunch. If you could condense it down slightly, that would be great.--Launchballer 13:49, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
@Launchballer: What do you have to say about the use of quotations? Our editors are obviously capable of paraphrasing and using a quote that is more specific to the event. OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 13:58, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
Quotes of more than 40 words have to be placed in a quote box per WP:QUOTE, which I've done. Other than that, absolutely nothing.--Launchballer 15:36, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
Copy edited original and ALT2 hooks. George Ho (talk) 05:33, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
I would pass this in next 12 hours. For now I would like to have opinion of Launchballer. OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 11:46, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
Better, but not great. One solution would be to reverse the hook, like so (though this would require another reviewer to approve it):
ALT3: ... that the Syrian National Coalition announced its relocation to Idlib just two days after the Second Battle of Idlib? (That's cutting it all the way down.)--Launchballer 14:03, 13 May 2015 (UTC)

Much better than others, George Ho would you agree with the ALT3? OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 14:09, 13 May 2015 (UTC)

This nomination has been present long enough. This doesn't matter much, although it helps fit in with other hooks in one set. George Ho (talk) 18:52, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
with ALT3. OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 23:55, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
