The Iranian Constitution of the time did not contain any reference to "democratic" elections. Prime ministers were appointed by the Shah (monarch) and this was done through parliamentary offers. Shah had the power to accept or reject the offers from the parliament. Hence, the prime ministers of Iran under that constitution were never democratically elected. undo Tag: Reverted
