Untitled

Slipknot is the major label debut album by Slipknot. It was released on June 29 1999 by Roadrunner Records. A digipak version was released on March 7 2000. This was followed by a "clean" version which was left completely uncensored, and contained a note in the booklet claiming censorship as being "the absolute fascism of America." Many of the tracks borrowed musical compositions from Slipknot's independently-released debut album, Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat.

The album was essentially a re-recording of some old demos with new songs such as "Eyeless" being recorded as well.

"Frail Limb Nursery" and "Purity" were accused of copyright infringement and were removed as they are based on a fictional crime story; they were replaced with "Me Inside." The iTunes version of the album has "Eeyore" listed and downloadable as a separate track. The clean version was released on March 14 (although it was actually not edited at all), and the digipak was re-released on August 9.

"Eeyore"

The song itself plays after a dialogue among band members that was recorded while they are viewing a scene in a pornographic movie where a man "purges his bowels" onto a woman's face. The song is a reaction to the disgust of the band members in general, and the anger of Corey Taylor in particular, to the scene. The live version of the song, which differs from the original, can be found on the album 9.0: Live.[citation needed]
