Ice spiders[edit]

I knew I'd read about ice spiders in Star Wars before, thanks an anon ip editor[1] who pointed out that they are called Krykna -- 109.76.143.199 (talk) 14:32, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ant-Man[edit]

Peyton Reed directed Ant-Man. Many sources think the ant-like alien Dr. Mandible is a deliberate reference to Ant-Man:

  • "I have to hope the ant-like Doctor Mandible was a nod to the director of this episode: Peyton Reed" [2] Vanity Fair
  • Ant-Man nod[3] Movieweb
  • It's also a neat, little calling card from the episode’s director, Ant-Man’s Peyton Reed.[4] Yahoo!
  • Peyton Reed References Ant-Man [5] CBR.com
  • Obvious homage [6]

but it is still only speculation so I've chosen not to add it to the article. I wouldn't add it to the article unless we had someone from the production side saying it was an intentional reference. -- 109.76.140.249 (talk) 10:54, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, do not add the Ant-Man reference until Peyton Reed says it is a reference. Cardei012597 (talk) 16:59, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I should clarify a bit. The intention of the creator or artist is one thing, the interpretation of reviewers is another. Editors certainly could include this because it is clearly has many sources (but I personally still wouldn't) but editors should be careful not to make assumptions about the authors intent, and be cautious to note that several reviews saw it as an Ant Man reference, rather than state or claim it as fact.
I'm not trying to block anything, I'm saying it needs careful wording is all. -- 109.78.196.250 (talk) 12:19, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Captain Teva[edit]

Paul Sun-Hyung Lee aka Captain Teva is tweeting about his appearance. Some of his tweets have been collected into an article.[7] -- 109.76.140.249 (talk) 22:39, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you can find more reliable sources, you can add it to the "Casting" section. Cardei012597 (talk) 23:55, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I mentioned it not because of the article (which is yet another article recycling tweets, and I expect there are other sources recycling them too) but because we could potentially cut out the middle-man and directly {{cite tweet}} if editors thought they provided any particularly useful background details. "I cried during the costume fitting" is pretty dramatic, and to me it is every bit as fascinating as the 501st legion being asked to help with Chapter 8, but I leave it to more objective editors to decide if these sorts of details are worth including in the production or casting sections. -- 109.77.210.97 (talk) 09:31, 9 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
CBC News article[8]. In rehearsals his helmet wasn't ready so they had him wear Biggs Darklighter's helmet instead. -- 109.78.215.166 (talk) 16:08, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Article's notability[edit]

There is currently a discussion regarding this article's (and the other episode article's) notability, to redirect them back to the season article. You can find that discussion here: Talk:The Mandalorian#Episodes articles. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 22:26, 20 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
