The Work Continues

Hi Medicellis!!! I hope that I'm not bugging you unnecessarily, but my impression up to this point is that you are sort of supervising this work. To let you know, I pushed forward and attempted to apply the same template to Emergency medical service in the United Kingdom. I had no sooner finished the edits when someone by the name of OwainDavies undid the whole thing. I left him a message, explaining what I was up to and asking him to revert it to the work that I had saved. His response (friendly enough) was that the format that I was using didn't meet Wikipedia standards. It looked to me like a good, accessible format for someone attempting to do actual research, but looking at his Wiki credentials, he seems to know what he's talking about, so now I am frankly confused. I have no interest or desire to get into an 'edit war' with anyone (life is just too short) and he seems to feel proprietary about that page (who knows? Perhaps he wrote it!). So for now I am just going to leave that page as he seems to want it, and move on to expand the Emergency medical service in Italy stub. Eventually I will finish the rest, and his will be the only one that doesn't follow the format, but if it's okay with him, it's fine with me! My only motivation is to make the sections on EMS and Paramedics, and my other area of interest Emergency Management, really shine, and I fully realize that I am not going to achieve that on my own, nor am I the only one with ideas on how this work should be done. Emergency medical service in France

Hi Medicellis! I've just finished a major re-write of this page for content, accuracy, spelling and grammar. Let me know what you think. I've taken the liberty of using exactly the same heading format for this page that I used for the Canadian page, with an intent of re-doing all of the country pages to precisely the same format, for ease of both reference and navigation. (I've decided that I'm going to do the country pages, both EMS and Paramedic, first) Hopefully, others will jump in and add additional information, and I will keep it on my watch list. BTW I couldn't believe it, but some idiot actually went and vandalized the Paramedic page! The bot caught it and undid it. Do you get a LOT of that sort of thing around here? Just curious... Ah well! Emergency medical service in Canada

Hi Once Again, I've just taken the time to completely rewrite this piece, expanding it from a stub to a half decent article, correcting for spelling, grammar, content and accuracy, and ensuring that everything is properly cited. I've also added a series of links to other Wikipedia pages for Canadian EMS services, and another list of links that are appropriate to those seeking more information...typically paramedic associations and that sort of thing. I will give this some more thought and see whether there is anything else that I might want to add, and any usable pictures to illustrate, but all in all, I'm pretty happy with the result! I'd welcome your feedback when you have a chance to have a look. What I propose to do next is to just wander around all of the Task Force associated pages, and to either clean up or rewrite to raise the standard, one at a time, as I see the opportunity. Paramedic

Hi Again, Medicellis. I think that I'm pretty much done with the Paramedic page. I've done whatever I could to sort out the problems, make the information useful, accessible, and high quality. It's also sufficiently broad in scope now to provide a fairly accurate representation, and I have cleaned up the spelling, punctuation, grammar, and general 'flow'. I'm very impressed with the quality of the paramedic article, very nicely written and expanded! I will take some time/effort over the next several times and see if I can help add (which I highly doubt) and any other issues. Paramedic

Hi Medicellis, and thanks for the invitation. As you can see I've joined the group. I've posted the stuff on the history of paramedicine on the main page now. If anyone suggests any additions etc., I will keep an eye on it. I also posted in the Talk section of the page on the Skills posting, making some suggestions to improve it...I'd be glad to know what you think. Also, just so you're aware, I've taken a shot at editing the U.S., Canada, and Australia pieces, just for grammar, clarity and readability. While you claim to have permission, confirmation from a person with OTRS access has not yet been placed on the talk page in question. Thus it is not currently possible to confirm your claim at this time. If you have sent the email then this issue will resolve itself with a little patience.

Once the copyright issues are resolved the article as you are creating it still had significant problems to be addressed to avoid further deletion. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a game guide or how to manual. As the source you are pulling from is a game guide, the scope and tone of the text is that of a game guide. This means that the article you are creating will need to be almost completely rewritten with only minimal portions of the text you are currently adding likely to survive. I would suggest you read Wikipedia:Your first article for basic information on creating and article on Wikipedia and contact Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games for articles on games similar to Mars 2025 that you can use as examples during the rewrite process. --Allen3 ^talk 02:25, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

• hello, I'm not associated with nor am advertising any program. I have expanded the article of CCEMTP to include more detailed discription of were the program was developed at. This isnt advertisment but demostrates noteability for inclusion into wiki. If you look at the orginal page I edited you will see that the article is wholly orginal and have only added the details of were the program is taken Medicellis (talk) 02:44, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Question

Hey! I had a question and was hoping you might know the answer :p. By 2015 in order to be a nurse practitioner, one will need to be a Doctor of Nursing Practice. If I have a BSN, will I still need an MSN to apply for a DNP? Hey Sheepeh, in most post baccalaureate programs will require a master to continue on before you will be aloud to enter a doctoral program. Right now the DNP is young (transitioning from Doctor of Nursing (ND)) and you will find limited direct BSN to DNP program probably less than mabe 5 in the US right now [1], [2]) although by 2015 you will find most CRNA programs direct BSN to DNP programs, and of course most colleges will have a BSN to DNP route. With this route though you will still have to complete entire MSN curriculum/courses, on the other hand this route will only have to defend one thesis (and not two as you would need to do completing separate MSN and DNP thesis's). As of right now other than a stepping stone completing your MSN will open your options up, in regards to schools obtaining a MSN is the best route. With all that stated, when the requirement of a DNP for NP and CRNA, will have a grandfather clause, meaning that if you are a MSN-NP you will be grandfathered in and will not have to obtain a DNP and still keep your credentials. At the present time a DNP is more of a research post-doctoral position, were you will get into teaching and nursing research. Medicellis (talk) 03:10, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi winnie, I have marked the article not for the quality of the written text, but for the lack of secondary cites and references, I'm sure there is a lot of them out there, but I have just started to go through all the EMS/emergency medicine, and haven't started to improve the articles as of yet. As I hit each page, I will be updating with appropriate clean-up tags, which I have done for this page. With 3-6 cites this page could easly hit "C" class on the assessment scale! Paramedics in Germany

Dear Medicellis, I just reverted your last edit in the above stated article. Not because it is wrong or vandalism, but I think the information you supplied there is either misplaced (belonging to Emergency medical services in Germany or (in my personal opinion) more of an item list than an encyclopaedic entry. However, I will review the items you have listed and incorporate them into the Paramedic and EMS entries within the week. Please don't get me wrong, you didn't make any downright false statements, but with German EMS being my profession, it is...well, just not quite right and I just can see it written like that. Winnie, that is fine as I have little experience in Germany EMS I have no prob with you refining the information. As you can see from my edit summary, this information was merged from information that was from a delete/merge from another page, I have no doubt that there is mis-information, I welcome a native editor changing the information!! The Paramedics in Germany was the most appropriate place to put this information. I hope that you can help in expanding the document, and please consider joining the EMS wikiproject (WP:EMS) as we desperately need editors from other nations! thanks for your comments, cheers!
