Reverting edits 15 January 2023
Hello Eejit43, I am questioning your reversion of edits made to the High School of Performing Arts page. I am a member of the Board of Directors for the High School of Performing Arts Alumni Association. The External Link that was added is a verified Website created by the HSPAA. It should be added because it DOES contain FURTHER RESEARCH that is ON-TOPIC, and has MEANINGFUL, RELEVANT CONTENT. In addition, the website that was removed, www.highschoolofperformingarts.com is a website constructed by a Board Member who passed away 4 years ago. If you were to look at the website, you would see that it has been completely corrupted, and has absolutely no relevance to the High School of Performing Arts. Unfortunately, the deceased Member's wife has no way to access the website or remove it from the web. The new site, which I inserted today, was commissioned by HSPAA to replace the defunct one on the WIKIPEDIA page. If you were to look at the new website, you would see that it provides a full history of our beloved school, along with the capability to find and connect with almost every student who attended Performing Arts. HSPAA is a totally non-profit organization, committed to preserving the history of this great institution. The website gives a much deeper insight into the history of the High School of Performing Arts and therefore belongs as an External Link on the Wikipedia page. Thank you, HSPAABoard HSPAABoard (talk) 03:09, 16 January 2023 (UTC)
- @HSPAABoard Adding the link in four separate locations is entirely unnecessary, and the placement didn't make much sense. Additionally, if that is for an alumni-specific website, and not for the actual school, then it shouldn't be listed as the main website. Feel free to add it back to external links if you wish, but it likely isn't appropriate anywhere else.
- Also, you most certainly have a conflict of interest, and your username is a blatant violation of the username policy. Check your talk page for more information. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 03:17, 16 January 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for your quick response. The website is not just alumni-specific. It is the only website existent that has accurate historical text and photos regarding the school. As I said, the website that currently is in the "Information Box" is corrupted and offers no relevant information on the school.
- Also, thank you for your advise re: WIKI usernames. I will address this. Thanks for your vigilance! HSPAABoard (talk) 03:58, 16 January 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you! I've added that to the "External links" section and updated the infobox link. I agree with you, it is probably better than having a dead link, even if it is mostly just a historical site. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 04:08, 16 January 2023 (UTC)

Username
Your username offends me. Eejit is a common swear word in Ireland and Scotland. RossButsy (talk) 17:14, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
- I'm sorry about that! The reasoning behind my username is a long story, but it is indeed based off the swear word. I've been thinking for the past couple weeks about something to change it to, and I probably will eventually. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 18:49, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
Ahh I was completely joking man I saw your username somewhere and it made me laugh. Doesn’t offend me one bit. Best. RossButsy (talk) 21:31, 20 January 2023 (UTC)

Page mover granted
Hello, Eejit43. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, move subpages when moving the parent page(s), and move category pages.
Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving a redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect
is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.
Useful links:
- Wikipedia:Requested moves
- Category:Requested moves, for article renaming requests awaiting action.
If you do not want the page mover right anymore, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Thank you, and happy editing! Salvio giuliano 09:05, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
Rollback granted
Hi Eejit43. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or RedWarn.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! —Femke 🐦 (talk) 17:11, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
Welcome!
Hi, and welcome to WikiProject Articles for creation! We are a group of editors who work together on the Articles for creation and Files for upload pages.
A few tips that you might find helpful:
- Please take time to fully read the reviewers' instructions before reviewing submissions.
- The reviewers' talk page is the best place to ask for help or advice. You might like to watchlist this page, and you are encouraged to take part in any discussion that comes up.
- Article submissions that need reviewing can be found in Category:Pending AfC submissions and there is also a useful list which is maintained by a bot.
- You might wish to add {{AFC status}} or {{AfC Defcon}} to your userpage, which will alert you to the number of open submissions. There is also a project userbox. If you haven't done so already, please consider adding your name to the list of participants.
- Several of our members monitor Wikipedia's help IRC channel, and you are welcome to join in to ask Wikipedia-related questions.
- The IRC channel #wikipedia-en-afc connect is used occasionally for internal discussion regarding the Articles for creation process, and also serves as a recent changes feed, displaying all edits made in the Articles for creation namespace.
- The help desk is the place where new editors can ask questions about their submissions. You are welcome to help in answering their questions.
Once again, welcome to the project. ❯❯❯ Raydann(Talk) 17:53, 25 January 2023 (UTC)

Erroneous move of J. P. Stevens High School
The article J. P. Stevens High School was moved to John P. Stevens High School. Wikipedia should match WP:COMMONNAME as Google search shows "J. P. Stevens High School" to be the far more common usage. The name had been stable for years and was moved under the specious claim that an uncontroversial "misspelling" was being fixed; this is *NOT* an uncontroversial misspelling.. Wikipedia uses the common name as the title, which is why the article for William Jefferson Clinton is titled Bill Clinton. Alansohn (talk) 02:03, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
- When I originally looked at the RM/T request, the results seemed to be almost half and half. Considering "John P. Stevens High School" is the official name, I opted to accept the request. As this is contested, I'll revert it, and the original requester can open a RM.
- @Bricks&Wood courtesy ping as the original requester. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 02:10, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
Tech News: 2023-05
Latest tech news from the Wikimedia technical community. Please tell other users about these changes. Not all changes will affect you. Translations are available.
Problems
- Last week, for ~15 minutes, some users were unable to log in or edit pages. This was caused by a problem with session storage. [1]
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 31 January. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 1 February. It will be on all wikis from 2 February (calendar).
Future changes
- Wikis that use localized numbering schemes for references need to add new CSS. This will help to show citation numbers the same way in all reading and editing modes. If your wiki would prefer to do it yourselves, please see the details and example CSS to copy from, and also add your wiki to the list. Otherwise, the developers will directly help out starting the week of February 5.

Eejit43, closing that discussion as "no consensus" without any nuance is way, way worse than a fourth relist. Nobody is satisfied with the status quo, and your closure is preserving an option that nobody is advocating for. Because deletion is a reasonable closure, this needs to be left to an admin who has the ability to carry out a "delete" result. Per WP:BADNAC A non-admin closure is not appropriate [when] the outcome is a close call (especially where there are several valid outcomes)
. Therefore, I recommend you reverse your closure. Additionally, I'm confused why you're trying to clerk at a place where you have little-to-no experience? RfD needs more editors participating in discussions, but it really doesn't need much help clerking at the moment. It's clear you're not reading the required guidance before diving in, so I recommend you slow down and get some more experience first. -- Tavix (talk) 16:17, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
- I note that an uninvolved editor has reopened the discussion, so my request to reopen the discussion is now moot. -- Tavix (talk) 23:41, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for your work at WP:AFCRC. I've been less active here lately with CfD work, so having more AFCRC reviewers is great. — Qwerfjkltalk 11:32, 1 February 2023 (UTC)
SS Formia Calcio
Why was my edits removed to the SS Formia Calcio page? All information was accurate. I’m new to this. Amasiello (talk) 05:04, 2 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Amasiello You removed a few categories, and the name changes without references are really not a good thing to do.
- You also removed templates, like {{short description}} and {{use dmy dates}}, which I'll add back.
- Also, you cannot self-reference Wikipedia, even if it is the italian Wikipedia. You need to cite separate reliable sources.
- Lastly, in the future when making talk page messages, it is best to create a new topic rather than replying to an old one, so conversations don't get mixed up. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 12:32, 2 February 2023 (UTC)
- Also @Amasiello, if you want to move a page, you can't do so simply in the visual editor. Use the move option in the dropdown menu on the page, or if you are unable to, make a request at WP:RM/TR. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 12:35, 2 February 2023 (UTC)
Warlord CCG links
Hey there,
I’m writing about the warlord ccg links. The current links in the articles are all very irrelevant to the current state of the game. The Wiki is in need of a lot of updating, and while this is new to me, I thought I would start with linking relevant content to anyone interested in learning more about the game and actually playing the game.
They were all resources that would be useful to anyone interested in the Warlord CCG. At the moment, it’s important to note that the game is completely player-maintained, so unfortunately there is no business to link to for official information.
Thanks for your time and consideration. 2601:589:4C80:E910:A548:CA19:5A09:CFA1 (talk) 15:17, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
- It is not appropriate to add links to personal discord servers, facebook groups, personal websites, etc. See WP:ELNO. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 15:22, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
AFCRC redirects
I think that two redirects you acccepted, Ketnipz and MeatCanyon, should be deleted per Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2021 November 20#Technoblade (and others). Also, the user who requested the redirects, 104.153.242.132, was evading a block. — Qwerfjkltalk 14:47, 4 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Qwerfjkl thanks, I wasn't aware of that! I've requested speedy deletion of both as author's request. Sorry about that! :) ~ Eejit43 (talk) 15:33, 4 February 2023 (UTC)

Recent changes
- In the Vector 2022 skin, logged-out users using the full-width toggle will be able to see the setting of their choice even after refreshing pages or opening new ones. This only applies to wikis where Vector 2022 is the default. [2]
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 7 February. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 8 February. It will be on all wikis from 9 February (calendar).
- Previously, we announced when some wikis would be in read-only for a few minutes because of a switch of their main database. These switches will not be announced any more, as the read-only time has become non-significant. Switches will continue to happen at 7AM UTC on Tuesdays and Thursdays. [3]
- Across all the wikis, in the Vector 2022 skin, logged-in users will see the page-related links such as "What links here" in a new side menu. It will be displayed on the other side of the screen. This change had previously been made on Czech, English, and Vietnamese Wikipedias. [4]
- Community Wishlist Survey 2023 will stop receiving new proposals on Monday, 6 February 2023, at 18:00 UTC. Proposers should complete any edits by then, to give time for translations and review. Voting will begin on Friday, 10 February.
Future changes
- Gadgets and user scripts will be changing to load on desktop and mobile sites. Previously they would only load on the desktop site. It is recommended that wiki administrators audit the gadget definitions prior to this change, and add
skins=…
for any gadgets which should not load on mobile. More details are available.

Alphabetical order of entries in a category
Hi Eejit43! thanks for quick assistance with my proposed new category "English-language writers from Bulgaria". Unfortunately the four linked entries under the letter "E" are misplaced. Not only Bulgaria (should be under B), but also three others. Thanks for the corrections! --Baekemm (talk) 16:10, 6 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Baekemm fixed all of those, thanks for pointing that out! ~ Eejit43 (talk) 16:12, 6 February 2023 (UTC)
RMT 'done'
Hey. Did you mean to 'do' this? I assume you might have wanted to per edit summary, but I don't particularly agree with the request, and the page wasn't moved. Silikonz💬 16:14, 6 February 2023 (UTC)
- I moved Record Of The Year to Record of the Year (disambiguation) as I agreed with your message. I then redirected Record Of The Year to Grammy Award for Record of the Year. Sorry I didn't leave a very informative edit summary, I'm going to revert that and properly explain what I had done, as I don't agree with moving the page as stated either. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 16:18, 6 February 2023 (UTC)
Sorry about that - I can now see that by including "{{short description|}}" in my "boilerplate for new stubs" I'm creating a duplicate field when I add a SD later. I've removed that line from my boilerplate. Thanks. PamD 20:49, 6 February 2023 (UTC)
Please reverse this. "ProtonMail" gets an order of magnitude more results than "Proton Mail" via Google search. - UtherSRG (talk) 16:33, 7 February 2023 (UTC)
- @UtherSRG done! Based on the quick google search I made I saw far more usage of "Proton Mail" (using Brave), and didn't use Google Trends as it always has redirect issues for me. Thanks! ~ Eejit43 (talk) 16:39, 7 February 2023 (UTC)
New page reviewer granted
Hi Eejit43. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:
- Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
- If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
- Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. "There are only two sources listed, one which is the official website and therefore not reliable, and Crunchbase, which is not a reliable source." But how is the official website not reliable, it is more likely to be correct because companies know may more about themselves than others. WPchanger2011 (talk) 01:28, 12 February 2023 (UTC)

- @WPchanger2011 Thank you for the clarification. You can't build an entire article off an official website. Notability needs to be proven, and official websites are obviously biased in the way they present information. See WP:GNG, WP:RS, and maybe check out H:YFA. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 01:51, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
- So does that mean you cannot use biased sources? Thank you for the links, too. WPchanger2011 (talk) 01:55, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
- Nope, that isn't the case (WP:BIASEDSOURCES), yet per WP:PRIMARY as well as WP:SELFPUB, the official website really shouldn't be used in that case, and certainly won't help prove notability in order to pass the AfC process. However, there does seem to be quite a few secondary sources not used in the article which would be reliable. :) ~ Eejit43 (talk) 02:02, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for having the link for making me understand WP:SELFPUB. However, is it that you know there are some secondary sources for the article that I can use? If yes, are you able to add it? WPchanger2011 (talk) 02:08, 12 February 2023 (UTC)
