Education

After his football career ended following a severe concussion, Clarke pursued his passions in aerospace engineering at the University of Queensland in 2016.

Following his completion of a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering) and a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) [4] at the UQ in 2020, Clarke was selected as a 2021 Rhodes Scholar and will begin his study at Oxford University in October of 2021.

He will complete a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) in Engineering Science, pursuing research in modelling hypersonic pulse tunnels through Oxford's Thermofluids Institute.

Community Involvement

Clarke remains heavily involved in his local community, working as an assistant coach at the Western Magpies. He works to develop the game knowledge of young key position players, as well as proper body positioning in aerial contests.

He has also been a part of UQ's Queensland Brain Institute as not only a study participant, but in study recruitment. Through this program he works to promote concussion awareness.
