Leimert Park is an under-construction light rail subway station in the Los Angeles County Metro Rail system. The station, located near the intersection of Crenshaw Blvd and Vernon Avenue in the Leimert Park section of Los Angeles. It will be served by the Crenshaw/LAX Line. It is currently under construction and is slated to open in 2021.[1]

The station incorporates artwork by three artists: Ingrid Calame, Mickalene Thomas, and Deanna Erdmann.[2]

Funding

The Leimert Park station was funded and fully incorporated into the project in May 2013 after massive community support for a tunnel under Park Mesa Heights.[4]
