Wilshire/Fairfax is an under-construction heavy-rail subway station in the LA Metro system in LA's Miracle Mile area along Wilshire Boulevard. It is slated to open in 2023. It will be served by the D Line (formerly Purple) and will be the second station west of Wilshire/Western station. [1][2][3]

Station layout

Currently under construction with a completion date of 2023. TBM's tunneling completed thru station.

One of two possible transfer stations with the Crenshaw Northern Extension Rail Project line to the Hollywood district under study, the other being Wilshire/La Brea station.[4]

Attractions

City park named Hancock Park and located within the park is The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). The Petersen Automotive Museum, A+D Museum, Craft and Folk Art Museum, George C. Page Museum, and La Brea Tar Pits pavilions, among others, create "Museum Row" on the Miracle Mile; all are within walking distance of the new station. The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Oscars), designed by Renzo Piano, will be in the Wilshire May Company building and a new contemporary structure for theaters. [5] The Farmers Market and Grove Shopping district are half a mile north on Fairfax.
