Sharifabad (Template:Lang-fa, also Romanized as Sharīfābād)[3] is a city in Mohammadiyeh District of Alborz County, Qazvin province, Iran.The name of this city was changed from Sharifia to Sharif Abad on 31 Khordad 1402 with the approval of the government board.[4]


At the 2006 census, its population was 16,551 in 4,248 households, when it was the village of Sharifabad in Sharifabad Rural District.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 21,009 people in 6,112 households,[6] by which time the village had been elevated to the status of a city and renamed Sharifiyeh.[7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 20,347 people in 6,074 households.[2]
