Aruni Madusha Rajapaksha (Sinhala: අරුණි රාජපක්ෂ; born 5 January 1984) is a Sri Lankan film actress,[1] model and a TV presenter. She was crowned Miss Sri Lanka in 2007[2][3] and had represented Sri Lanka at the Miss Universe 2008 beauty pageant. She also participated for Miss International 2007 and eligible to enter to top 15 list.[4]

Early life

After the G.C E Advanced Level examination in the Arts stream, Aruni joined the Kandy Technical College to do a secretarial course. However, she involved in organizing fashion shows in Kandy which led her to do modelling.[5]

As a beauty queen

In 2004 Aruni won Udarata Menike title and Capri Beauty queen 2005 crown. It was the first success step for her career as a model.[6]

She was Miss Sri Lanka 2007 for the Miss Universe competition in 2008. She has also competed in the Miss Tourism Queen International 2007 (China) and Miss International 2007 (Japan) competitions.[7]

In 2012 Aruni won the 3rd place at 2nd edition of Bride of the World 2012 competition held in Macau, China.[8][9]

Career as a host

Aruni hosted TV show 'Niwaduwata travel ekak' on Hiru TV.[12]
