Green Island Cement
Green Island Cement is Hong Kong's only major cement producer.[1]
It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings.
History
The company was founded at Ilha Verde (Green Island or Tsing Chau) in Macau in 1887 and was the first concrete manufacturer in the region.[2] It relocated to Hok Un, Hung Hom, Hong Kong in 1898 and became a British company shortly afterward.[3] The company had been a major employer for many decades.[2][4]
