The Netherlands was represented by Edsilia Rombley in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song "On Top of the World".
Edsilia Rombley was born in Amsterdam on 13 February 1978. She is most prominently known from her participation in the Soundmixshow and the Eurovision Song Contest. In 1998, Edsilia was chosen to represent the Netherlands in Birmingham with the song "Hemel En Aarde". With the song, she reached a respectable fourth place with 150 points, which is the highest position the country has achieved since their win back in 1975. After two English language albums, Edsilia released her first Dutch album in February 2007.
Before Eurovision
Internal selection
On 16 December 2016, NOS announced Edsilia Rombley as the Dutch entrant at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007. Edsilia had previously represented the Netherlands in 1998, placing fourth.[1] On 11 February 2007, Edsilia presented three songs – including the official Dutch entry for the 2007 contest – from her upcoming album during the television programme Mooi! Weer De Leeuw, hosted by Paul de Leeuw and aired on Nederland 1.

Preparation
Even though Edsilia had expressed her wish to sing in the Dutch language, she decided to sing "Nooit meer zonder jou" in English under the name "On Top of the World".
At Eurovision
Edsilia performed "On Top Of The World" in the semi-final of Eurovision on 10 May in Helsinki, performing tenth in the contest, following Moldova and preceding Albania. She finished twenty-first in the competition, thus missing out on a top-ten position which would have secured her place in the finals.
For the first time, the display for the Dutch entry had the country's name with an article the (as "The Netherlands") instead of without it like in the previous years (as "Netherlands").
