Samaa TV (Urdu: سماء ) is a Pakistani Urdu language news television network.[1] The word 'Samaa' is Arabic for 'sky' or 'heaven'. It is broadcast simultaneously from five major cities of Pakistan – Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Quetta and Peshawar.[2][3]

History

Samaa TV was founded in 2007 and is owned by Jaag Broadcasting Systems (Pvt) Limited.[2] Samaa TV claims that it resists sensationalism in news presentation to the public and focuses on presenting news based on facts. Its company slogan is 'Sansani Nahin, Sirf Khabrain' (No Sensationalism, Only News).[4]
