Abortion in Kazakhstan is legal on request up to 12 weeks of pregnancy, between 12 and 24 weeks on a variety of socioeconomic and medical grounds, and after 24 weeks in life threatening circumstances.[1]

History

Abortion law in Kazakhstan is based upon law in the former USSR and has not been updated since independence in 1992.[2]
