Awdhegele (also Awdheegle) is a town in the Lower Shebelle region in southern Somalia with about 19,000 inhabitants. It is located west of Mogadishu on the Shebelle River.

As of March 9, 2016, the town is controlled by the al-Shabaab Islamist militant group.[1]
