Democrat Party (Persian: فرقه دموکرات) was a social democrat political party in Qajari Persia and one of the two major parties of the constitutional period alongside its parliamentary rival Moderate Socialists Party.[1]

Initially an offshoot of the Transcaucasia-based Social Democratic Party, it severed direct ties with Baku and dropped "Socialist" of the name in deference to the conservative publicm but heavily borrowed ideology from the old party.[2] It mainly composed of middle-class intellectuals and stood the separation of church and state.[2]

In 1918, the party had split definitively to Pro-Reorganization Democrats (Persian: دموکرات‌های تشکیلی, romanizedDemokrāthā-ye taškīlī) led by Bahar; and Anti-Reorganization Democrats (Persian: دموکرات‌های ضدتشکیلی, romanizedDemokrāthā-ye żedd-e taškīlī).[1]
