Billy Summers is an upcoming American crime thriller film based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King.
Premise
[edit]Billy Summers is a hitman hoping to retire, and takes on one last job that sees him posing as a writer in a small town to kill another hitman set to stand trial in the town.
Production
[edit]It was announced in February 2022 that Bad Robot Productions was developing a miniseries adaptation of the Stephen King novel that they would soon pitch to networks and streamers. Ed Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz were set to write the series, with Zwick directing.[1]
In February 2023, the project was reformatted into a film, with Appian Way Productions and Warner Bros. Pictures joining the production. It was stated there was potential for J. J. Abrams to direct and Leonardo DiCaprio to star.[2]
