Kim Dong-yun (Korean: 김동윤, born February 18, 2002),^[1] known mononymously as Dongyun (Korean: 동윤), is a South Korean rapper, singer and dancer. He debuted in 2020 as the main rapper of South Korean boy group Drippin under Woollim Entertainment. He is also a former contestant on the 2019 South Korean reality survival show Produce X 101.

Early life

Kim Dong-yun was born on February 18, 2002 in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea.^[1] He is the younger brother of actress Kim Ji-won.

Career

2019: Produce X 101

In 2019, Dongyun was introduced as a contestant on the reality survival show Produce X 101, a 2-year and 9-month trainee representing Woollim Entertainment. In the finale, he was eliminated from the competition and ranked 23rd place.

2020: Drippin

On September 4, 2020, Woollim Entertainment announced that they would be debuting their new boy group in late October. Subsequently, it was confirmed that Dongyun would be part of the lineup, with the group's name later revealed to be Drippin.^[2]^[3] They made their debut with the release of their first EP, Boyager, on October 28, 2020.
