My AfC was flagged with a template suggesting a possible COI. I have no professional, financial or personal linkage to this person -- he's participated in talks that I've attended and organized, and I -- like many others -- have seen him from afar on national TV hundreds of time during the pandemic. He's a visible person on primetime news almost every day -- its unfortunate wikipedia has yet to dedicate an article to him and Im trying to help fill the void. Hoping you'll help me finally get this over the top. Warmly,
That your group that you organized brought him in as a guest speaker suggests an apparent association, so I suggest any further edits you do should be done using edit requests, now that the article is in mainspace. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 20:25, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
What is the 23 for? Another recent account also using the same formatting and suffix but another name suggests that these accounts work for the same company or belong to the same person, using fake names. —PaleoNeonate – 23:30, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The new editor also added back the Seattle magazine blurb and seems to be rewriting some parts to be more promotional. Unlike Caroline's, who maps to an actual person's name associated with an organization who posted press material for Gupta, the newer name doesn't map to someone directly involved yet from a search.PaleoNeonate, if you can scrub if for neutrality, or tag UDP again. Sorry for the delay, I just did and posted a question at the "Caroline" account's talk page. So far the current state of the article is better than it was and I will not personally restore the COI tag at current time. —PaleoNeonate – 01:35, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hatchens Colleagues, I'd be glad to assent to any type of inquiry -- Ive been working at this AfC for months now as someone that sees this individual on primetime TV constantly for the past 2+ years...felt it was a disservice to viewers that we didn't know more about him, hence my efforts to rectify that. I dont work for any company or get paid...I did this given the times that we live in. As you can see from his social presence (https://twitter.com/VinGuptaMD?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor), a lot of us are close followers of his COVID-19 advice. Anyhow, as always, if there's something I/we can do better to ensure neutrality, I will always strive to make this article better. Thank you again for all of your help. - CG— Preceding unsigned comment added by Caroline grossman23 (talk • contribs) 01:23, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
