1 Glendalough ALP MLA and former Premier Carmen Lawrence resigned in early 1994 to contest a federal by-election for the seat of Fremantle. ALP candidate Michelle Roberts won the resulting state by-election on March 19.
2 Helena ALP MLA Gordon Hill resigned in mid-1994. Liberal candidate Rhonda Parker won the resulting by-election on September 10.
3 South Perth MLA Phillip Pendal was elected as a representative of the Liberal Party, but resigned to sit as an independent on March 30, 1995.
4 Kalgoorlie ALP MLA Ian Taylor resigned in early 1996 to run for the federal seat of Kalgoorlie at the 1996 federal election. ALP candidate Megan Anwyl won the resulting by-election on March 16.
5 Kimberley MLA Ernie Bridge was elected as a representative of the ALP, but resigned to sit as an independent on July 27, 1996.
