The Indore–Chandigarh Express is a weekly mail express train running between Indore Junction railway station of Indore, the largest city and commercial hub of Madhya Pradesh and Chandigarh, the capital union territory of Punjab, India and Haryana.[1][2] This train is the only train connection between Indore and Chandigarh.

Arrival and departure

  • Train number 1****, will depart from Indore every Wednesday at 17:20 and will reach Chandigarh, the next day at 21:45.
  • Train number 1****, will depart from Chandigarh every Fridays and will reach Indore, the next day at 05:40.

The train goes via Dewas Junction, Ujjain Junction, Guna, Gwalior Junction, Agra and New Delhi.

Average speed and frequency

The train will run on weekly basis from both the cites. It will run with an average speed of 64 kilometres per hour (40 mph).

The train generally consist of 23 coaches including 1 AC I cum. II tier, 1 AC II tier, 3 AC III tier, 12 sleeper coaches, 4 general coaches and 2 SLR.
