Location of Kamihei District in Iwate Prefecture

Kamihei (上閉伊郡, Kamihei-gun) is a district located in Iwate Prefecture, Japan.

Following the Tōno merger the district consists of the single town of Ōtsuchi. As of 2004, the district has an estimated population of 16,521. The total area (from the 2005 data) is 200.58 km².

The district consists of one town.

Mergers

  • On October 1, 2005 the village of Miyamori merged with the city of Tōno to create the new city of Tōno.
