Kings Langley School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in the village of Kings Langley in Hertfordshire, England. It is situated on Love Lane about 3 quarters of a mile from Junction 20 on the M25 and about half a mile from Kings Langley railway station.

The school has pupils aged 11 to 18. Its traditional catchment area is between the nearby towns of Watford and Hemel Hempstead. Most students are from Kings Langley and around or in the neighbouring villages of Bovingdon, Abbots Langley.

The school became one of the first batch of schools to benefit from the governments PFI re-build scheme in 2012, and should be completely re-built by 2016.

The school was among the top 20 most improved secondary schools in England for GCSE results over the 2004–2007 period.[1]

Drama success

The school has competed in the globally recognised dance competition, Rock Challenge, for many years and for the last 6 have been placed in the top 3 in the heats every year. In the heats of 2008, the school were ranked 1st at the heats and 4th at the Open Finals held in Portsmouth Guildhall. They were also ranked 1st in the 2009 heats held in Stevenage. The school also became the National Champions at the UK Rock Challenge competition in July 2012. The team led by head of performing arts Ms Gemma Dolan. Rock Challenge UK Website

Football team success

The 1st XI Senior football team had a very successful 07/08 season having claimed the Dacorum district cup (after defeating Hemel Hempstead School 5-2) and finishing top of the premier division in the Hertfordshire county league. This made them the first football team in the school's history to claim two trophies in one season. The team also beat the Hertfordshire county team 5-3 in a one off match at the end of the season.
