In the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game, the mantari is a type of magical beast.

Publication history

The mantari first appeared in the original first edition Fiend Folio (1981).[1]

The mantari appeared in second edition Advanced Dungeons & Dragons in the Monstrous Compendium Fiend Folio Appendix (1992).[2]

Description

A mantari resembles a large gray manta ray, with a long smooth tail. A mantari preys on giant rats, and also eats carrion, plants, and other edible things found in dungeons and caverns.
