Minecraft Dungeons is an upcoming dungeon crawler game developed by Mojang and published by Xbox Game Studios. The game will be released for Xbox One, Windows 10, PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch in April 2020.
Gameplay
Unlike Minecraft, Minecraft Dungeons has no crafting or building. Instead it focuses on being a dungeon crawler game, where the player explores randomly-generated dungeons filled with randomly-generated monsters, and also deals with traps, puzzles, and finding treasure.[1][2] There is no class system; players can use any weapon or armor they wish.[3] It will include up to four player co-operative multiplayer.[4]
Development
Dungeons is being developed by Mojang using Unreal Engine 4, and is led by director Mans Olsen.[5][6] Console ports are being done by Double Eleven.[7] It will be released in April 2020.[8]
Reception
Shacknews called it "a fun, laid back dungeon crawler for friends to get into."[9]
