Instead it focuses on being a dungeon crawler game, where the player explores randomly-generated dungeons filled with randomly-generated monsters, and also deals with traps, puzzles, and finding treasure.[1][2] There is no class system; players can use any weapon or armor they wish.[3] It will include up to four player co-operative multiplayer.[4]

Development

Dungeons is being developed by Mojang using Unreal Engine 4, and is led by director Mans Olsen.[5][6] Console ports are being done by Double Eleven.[7] It will be released in April 2020.[8]

Reception

Shacknews called it "a fun, laid back dungeon crawler for friends to get into."[9]
