Non scarring hair loss, also known as noncicatricial alopecia, is the loss of hair without any scarring being present.[1] This is in contrast to scarring hair loss.
Causes
Causes of noncicatricial alopecia include:[1]
- Alopecia areata
- Anagen effluvium
- Androgenetic alopecia
- Dermatopathia pigmentosa reticularis
- Telogen effluvium
- Trichotillomania (Trichotillosis)
