Ritam (Serbian Cyrillic: Ритам, trans. Rhythm) was a Yugoslav music magazine. Although prior to the appearance of Ritam there were Yugoslav magazines dedicated to jazz,[1] Ritam, founded in 1962, was the first Yugoslav magazine which, besides jazz, dealt with rock and pop music, thus paving the way for rock magazines like Džuboks and Pop Express.[2][3]
History
Ritam magazine was founded in 1962 by publisher Dnevnik from Novi Sad.[4] It was dedicated to jazz and popular music.[4] The Editor-in-Chiefs was poet Miroslav "Mika" Antić.[4] The first issue was released on October 1, 1962.[4] The price of an issue was 50 dinars.[4] Before August 1965, when the last issue appeared, 39 issues were released.[4]
