Springfield Township School District is a public school district serving the following communities in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania:

Jason Gattuso a former eighth grade social studies teacher of the district is in Montgomery County Correctional Facility and a registered sex offender for alleged sexual relationships with a 14 and a 15 year old girls. He was replaced by Patrick Kelly. Proceeding him was Jason Pane the current assistant principal of the high school. Before the 2013-2014 school year he was an itinerary teacher hired by the district in Augest 2008. He served in Iraq for six years. He graduated from Villanova University with a masters degree in Historiography in 2000. He was the 1994 class of Central Bucks High School.

Bathroom policy

Springfield Township School District was the first in Pennsylvania to adopt an official stance on the issue of access to bathrooms for transgender students. In April 2016, the school board unanimously approved a policy which states that students are allowed to use the bathrooms and locker rooms corresponding to their gender identity rather than the sex stated on their birth certificate.

Future plans

Springfield Township School District will be the first school district with a fully battery powered bus in the United States.[1]


The Erdenheim Elementary school is currently being replaced with brand new facility in the same area as the former campus. The Middle School is also currently being remodeled, both are going to be equipped with new geothermal heating technology.[1] The school district also in the process of getting more smart board technology in all classrooms across all the schools in the district.[2]
