Incorrect timings

[edit]

There's no way that Cotton Owens turned a sub-17-second lap at Darlington, certainly not 1957. 117mph on a 1.375mile track equates to about 42 seconds. I'll see if I can find actual documentation pertaining to the race; racing-reference.com lists the pole speed, but not any timings or other competitors' qualifying speeds/times.
