First Match
[edit]The first match of this season was played at a neutral venue. Since 4(or 5?) new venues have been added which themselves host no team the table showing home and away wins and losses would be incorrect. So it should be removed. What do you think? --Harsh Mujhse baat kijiye(Talk) 21:13, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
No. All league matches will be played at home & away venues only. Each pair of teams will pair twice, once at the home of each team. Due to the prevailing semi-tense situation in A.P, all matches in Hyderabad & Vijayawada, DC's home locations, were shifted out to Cuttack, Navi Mumbai, and Nagpur. The opening match, final & 3rd stage play-offs, awarded to Deccan Chargers, will now take place in Navi Mumbai. Atif.hussain (talk) 12:35, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
New Teams this Season?
[edit]Am I right in thinking there will be two new teams in 2010, or have I just made this up?--SquidSix (talk) 17:44, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
Should've checked the references, it's all explained there, int it?--SquidSix (talk) 19:03, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
No new teams for the 2010 season, just 4 new venues. 2 new teams for 2011, for a hefty base price of $225 million each. That's how it currently stands as far as i know. Davo499 (talk) 05:43, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
Request: Change of Jersey Colour for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2010 page
[edit]Hello, the jersey color for the KKR team changed from Black-Golden to Purple-Golden. I tried changing the color but was unable to do so. Can someone from the moderator team help me in this? I believe the color code for the purple shade is #7D26CD.
Thanks, Kdg81 (talk) 09:53, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
I did this yesterday, without seeing this request, and so i haven't used the shade you provided. How different is it to the current purple used? Davo499 (talk) 23:37, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
Thank you, Davo499. I think you have used the right HEX code for the KKR jersey (#310062???). Mine was a tad lighter in shade. Can you please let me know the way to modify the GIFs and modifying the content for the box at the top right of every WIKI page?
Appreciate your help. Kdg81 (talk) 07:17, 14 March 2010 (UTC) (Kaushik)
They need to be altered in the IPL template screen. Template:Cr-IPL. I'm tempted to alter a few more colours too. Mumbai now seem to just have a single tone blue with gold trims (will be confused with Rajasthan), Deccan have much darker blue without any silver, and I'd like to put just a little red in Chennai's. Also perhaps reversing Punjab's colours. What do people think about these? 124.150.98.22 (talk) 07:56, 31 March 2010 (UTC)

Teams and standings- qualify
[edit]Does the colours in Teams and Standings section make sense for now? In my opinion it gives a false notion that the top four teams have already qualified whereas the bottom four hasn't. Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 16:21, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
Yes, they do. Since the positions and standings of the teams vary everyday, we can have a quick look at this table to see which teams are in the "safe" zone and which teams are in the "danger" zone. Other wiki-sites use this methodology too:

Player statistics convention
[edit]While displaying batsmen statistics, Conventionally, batting average is counted as total runs made divided by the no. of times played and got out. The denominator is not incremented if the player remains not out in the match.
Following this convention, Kallis' average ought to be 200+, since he got out only once, while it is being shown ~56. I am not correcting, since the same error must have invariably crept in each player's average. Atif.hussain (talk) 06:07, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
re. Photos
[edit]I would just like to thank the geezer who put the stadium photos on. As well as giving an idea of what the stadiums look like, they also add a lot to the overall look of the page.--SquidSix (talk) 18:11, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
Please do not update page till the match ends
[edit]Folks, right now someone is editing the page in which KKR is winning. It was 50 earlier and now 47. Please wait till the end of the match. Also, someone has already put 6 against the running points table.
Request you to please hold on till the end of the match.

Teams qualified/eliminated?
[edit]Why is Punjab XI eliminated? As of now? Citations/calculations?
--ti 06:20, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
And it is still possible for Mumbai to miss out with 11 games to go.
Roboh11 (talk) 05:25, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
Please do not update the league standings to show that a team is eliminated unless it is mathematically certain. Kings XI Punjab would need all 7 remaining games to go their way, with a significant NRR shift too, but it's still possible, and they are not eliminated. Mojo87 (talk) 18:54, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
Mumbai are definitely in after they reached 18 points.. to knock them out, it would need four other teams to reach 18 points which is impossible.
--ti 16:29, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
At this stage, with 5 league matches left, 4 teams have 14+ pts. To qualify to semis, teams need at least 14 pts, and those with a tie on 14 pts, require adequate run-rate to beat the other teams. Matches with 60+ run wins or 7+ overs win are considered implausible. --Atif.hussain (talk) 08:23, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
Implausible but not impossible. In fact, Mumbai just won by 57 runs. Maybe I'm a purist, but I think you only indicate a team is out when it's mathematically certain, not when it seems very likely. Mojo87 (talk) 16:01, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
England players not in auction??
[edit]How did Eoin Morgan then get bought?
--ti 06:22, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
English Players initially weren't included in the shortlist. That was rectified before the auction took place. Yes Eoin Morgan and some others were bought in the 2010 IPL Player Auction. Davo499 (talk) 02:12, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
RCB has qualified for the semis, as of 17/4/2010 evening
[edit]Matches # 52 and # 53 will have no effect on the result, nor will # 56. However, for # 54, if KXIP wins, then the table stands as it is now, and # 55 decides whether DD or DC takes on second position with 16 points; either ways RCB will stick to either position # 2 or # 3, and hence qualify. If however, CSK wins # 54, then the table will read as MI:CSK:RCB:DD (since CSK will share points with RCB and DD, but will have a higher NRR than the other two, since the NRR can only go up at this stage, irrespective of the actual scores - thats the nature of the statistic). The result of # 55 will then decide who takes # 2 position (DD or DC), and this could push RCB to # 4, but not lower. Hence it will qualify. Pizzadeliveryboy (talk) 17:45, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
A big win for KKR in the last match would put them up to 14 points as well, meaning the NRR would decide 3-4-5(-6) between KKR, RCB, loser of DC-DD, and CSK if they beat KXIP. RCB are not mathematically guaranteed a place in the semi-finals, in fact a no result between DC-DD and a CSK win would eliminate RCB. 74.57.177.192 (talk) 19:43, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
- Pizzadeliveryboy, you are wrong. Winner of DD-DC will be 2nd on 16 points. Chennai with a higher runrate is 3rd. RCB is 4th.
- There is also the highly unlikely situation of DD-DC getting washed out, in which case RCB will be knocked out. --ti 16:54, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
- At this point Kolkata has a chance of beating RCB out via NRR, so bangalore and kolkata are still not in semis yet. --ti 17:52, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
- I second that. --- 173.3.12.110 (talk) 18:43, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
- I modified the table to show that RCB are not yet qualified
, but I believe the Daredevils can still qualify on NRR if the Bangalore NRR is lowered below +0.2. If this is incorrect, feel free to correct the table 74.57.177.192 (talk) 18:57, 18 April 2010 (UTC) - Sorry, I was wrong in my thoughts about DD, I will fix my mistake. I have also removed CSK from the second semi-final (tree and match summary) as a large KKR win could see them drop to 4th place 74.57.177.192 (talk) 18:59, 18 April 2010 (UTC)

Edit request from Amit.gr8guy, 25 April 2010
[edit]{{editsemiprotected}}
1.change in the "League progression" table - Chennai Super Kings(W) and Mumbai Indians (L) with appropriate colour (W-blue, L-pink).
2.suggest cleanup of "Knockout Stage", not really clear at first glance. (personal opinion: should be a clean tree without the excess lines and move the third place match off the tree as a separate entry below the tree)
T1- |-T1- T2- | |-T1 T3- | |-T3- T4-
Losers Final
T2- |-T2 T4-
