For some stupid reason, the admins decided that Triva sections are not very encyclopedic. If you want to post about the parody, put a "references to popular culture" section up or something. Stormfin 02:58, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

That's a common misconception. Wikipedia allows trivia. It's just not supposed to be in its own section. Though frankly I don't see why not. Articles about TV shows aren't very encyclopedic either, and trivia sections suit them. - Shaheenjim 18:53, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

I've created the section "important events" after watching the episode tonight. Some of it may be inaccurate, I suggest that someone go through and make sure I got it right. Also, I added to the introduction a spoiler, about the suicide of House. Not sure what the consensus is for that. Alecwh 05:31, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

To me, "suicide" means they permanently succeeded. "Failed suicide" or "attempted suicide" means they're still alive. Your heart stopping for 30 seconds does not make you permanently dead. To avoid the whole ambiguity issue, I'd suggest the use of another word/phrase like "electrocuted". Cburnett 19:16, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Thirteen vs. Kitty Carlisle

Olivia Wilde's character has no name, the "Kitty Carlisle" reference in the last episode was a reference to actor Kitty Carlisle Hart. She is still called "Thirteen" at this point. She will receive a name at some point in the future, as Olivia Wilde is going to be added to the permanent cast.Mooshimanx 20:47, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

But it's not her nickname; that was a one time joke; her nickname is already Thirteen (she asked to be called this, and the promo materials call her "Thirteen")

Dog and drugs

Also, I am not entirely sure (and deleted the DVR already) of whether the patient gave his dogs the drugs, or whether the dog simply stole them, and when this happened. Assuming that Thirteen gave him the drugs when she made her preliminary (correct) diagnosis of the worms, why did he not say something about not having gotten the drugs, as he was fairly lucid up until he actually dies? That lead me to beleive that she had given him the drugs when he died; except if he was dying of asphyxia, they wouldn't give him those pills, and probably would have administered it through his IV, right? She left them on the tray with the water. One of the guys push the tray out of the way so they could take him to the bathroom. As worded, the article does not take a stance either way. Stark didn't take them, the dog did. Now you could argue that "take" implies something but I think it's fine. Cburnett 21:08, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

Probably because almost immediately afterwards, he was being told by other doctors that it wasn't the threadworms after all. So he probably didn't think about it too much.MythicFox 06:43, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Its left up to the viewer to determine how and why the dog got the pills, but in the end the answer won't change the outcome of the episode. BethEnd 05:34, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Cultural References and Triva

While the others are passable, the proported refence to Gershwin's song seems weak at best. Also, trivia sections are being discouraged. That information is supposed to be worked into the article. BethEnd 14:09, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

More cultural references

First of all, sorry if this should not deserve a new subject and it should have been added to a previous one, but this is my first contribution to the wikipedia and I'm still not sure of how everything works up...

Secondly, I have found a pair of "Cultural references" to the "97 seconds" House episode. As I am from Spain (btw, sorry for my bad English) and I watch the show in Spanish, I don't know the "exact" original English phrases and quotes, so please take my information and add them (if they deserve it) to the main article using the exact original phrases. So, this is what I found:

1.- At a moment, House say to the "old man" candidate: "I think I will miss you most of all, ridiculously old fraud" (I have found this exact quote at the imdb). This is a clear reference to the end of "The wizard of Oz" classical movie, where Dorothy says goodbye to the Scarecrow saying: "I think I will miss you most of all".

2.- When discussing with Wilson about the existence or not-existence of the after-life, House says something in the way of "Between crap and nothing I will take crap" (or it was: "Between grief and crap I will take crap"?. Sorry but I watched the show "live" and I didn't record it). That is a direct reference to one of the most famous William Faulkner statements: "Between grief and nothing I will take grief", from "The wild Palms", used in a very similar context than House's discussion: it's an "existencialist" reflexion.

Mistake or Deliberate?

When "13" is givinbg the pills to the patient, it seems like he already can't use his arms anymore (especially when you see how when he is carried to the loo, the doctors has to grab patient's arms). Why is this article title disambiguated?

There is no conflict with 97 Seconds which is a redirect to this article at 97 Seconds (House). It should not be predisambiguated. Article names should only be disambiguated when there is a naming conflict. See the TV episode article naming guidelines: "For an article created about a single episode, add the series name in parentheses only if there are other articles by the same name" --Serge (talk) 03:00, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
