Khaddour or Kaddour?

[edit]

This article spells his surname both ways.--Darrelljon 19:42, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agreee that there should be no H.--Vintagekits 21:35, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

i suggest a move to kaddour. look at his pro record on boxrec.com which goes by how his name appears in promotions that go by his license. also look at how his last name is spelled at the reference links to his danish and nordic amateur titles in the danish boxing union's official records. even his own facebook page spells his last name kaddour. i saw a video of him training in a shirt once with "khaddour" written on the back but maybe someone else printed it for him? his 2 main languages are arabic and danish. arabic letters are all different from ours and danish alphabet has a few extra letters that look different, so the english spelling of his name may not have been established before he boxed internationally. if you follow the danish boxing union page for nordic champions, you can see they spell his first name in 1999 on the "guld medal" line "ahmed" and in 2000 on the "guld medal" line "ahmad", only 5 lines apart on the same document produced by his own amateur boxing association, so his first name has 2 spellings as well. it was ahmed in the contender series intro but on every boxing card i have seen he is listed as ahmad. i would go with ahmad kaddour because it is the most common, but i would definitely suggest a move to kaddour spelling of last name. i am willing to login and do it if there are non objections — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.98.204.251 (talk) 06:24, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ahmed KhaddourAhmad Kaddour – move this to last name "kaddour" and first name "ahmad", going by boxrec.com pro record name cited http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=20099&cat=boxer, danish amateur boxing union and other amateur records refernced in article http://www.dabu.dk/images/dok/his/dm/Danske_Mestre_1915-2007.pdf, and most media reports containing "ahmad kaddour". we can have alternative spellings listed and we can change it back if there is any reason to go with "ahmed" or "khaddour" Christo1234 (talk) 23:57, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
