American
[edit]I've added detail to the plot, in particular emphasising that the plot follows from the previous novel and that its focus is not AIVAS itself, but the mision to destroy thread.
I've dropped the reference to American Novels - McCaffrey is American, yes, but she lives and writes in Ireland and her publisher is in the UK. She's international if anything

- Acknowledgments in recent Pern books imply that Shelly Shapiro with Del Rey Books/Ballantine remains the primary editor, along with copyeditor M. Trachtenberg (? from memory). UK editor Judith Welsh at Transworld (company) seems to be secondary. Also it's my understanding that Anne M remained with agent Virginia Kidd until the latter's death. The primary agent or only agent now seems to be Todd M's, Donald Maass (presum. Donald Maass Literary Agency of New York).
- In other articles on Pern books I have dubbed her "American-Irish author Anne McCaffrey with footnote explanation of her 1970 move. I have both some "British" and some "American" categories.
- To identify the first editions and their publishers I have relied on ISFDB. --P64 (talk) 17:57, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
