Elite: Dangerous?
[edit]Elite: Dangerous could be mentioned in this article. Offline mode was initially promised to the Kickstarter backers, but that didn't happen. There's been a bit of grumbling about this in the userbase. - Soulkeeper (talk) 14:18, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
Should DRM that requires a perodic connection be called “periodically-online DRM”?
[edit]There is actually two types of internet-required DRM:
- Always-on DRM: Requires constant connection to server
- Periodic authentication: Requires an authentication to a server periodically (every certain amount of time) or every boot.
However, regardless of which one, they both are at risk should companies shut down their server, with the latter have a certain amount of time before the DRM ask to authenticate again, after that, its over. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joeleoj123 (talk • contribs) 01:35, 11 September 2019 (UTC)
Add List of Notable Examples
[edit]The Usage and criticism section doesn't really have a high level overview, it just lists notable examples. Perhaps these should be moved to their own section, and sorted chronologically. 2404:4408:430C:C800:4C4B:32F6:39AC:9723 (talk) 10:37, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
