Recipe?

[edit]

Wouldn't a recipe be appropriate? It's hard for me to tell whether I want to try this or not!--BillFlis 15:28, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The dish is illegal, you shouldn't want to! Anecdotally, the reason why you're encouraged to swallow the bird whole is because they're served with entrails and all. It's not cost effective to gut the birds as it's tricky! dvc214 11:51, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I wasn't going to serve it in a restaurant, I was thinking of asking my wife to prepare it. So it's not going to cost me anything, but leaving in the entrails sounds just like her style of cooking.--BillFlis 18:25, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This page does seem kind of biased against ambelopoulia. 24.137.126.62 16:00, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe on account of the dish being illegal?! If you can contribute to enhance the article I'm sure it'll be welcome as long as it's factual and informative. dvc214 15:07, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Presumably the dish is not illegal, the use of songbirds is. If you substitute them for poussin or quail there would be no problem. But finding a recipe is difficult so even trying that as an experiment is hard. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.208.55.33 (talk) 16:01, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am looking for a recipe for this for historical research purposes and I found this article to be worthless political propaganda. Yes, the practice of catching songbirds may be banned but presumably the dish could be made with farm-raised birds as well. I would appreciate if someone provided a link to a recipe. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.238.140.187 (talk) 07:31, 29 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Just though I'd drop this off here.... ---J.S (T/C/WRE) 20:41, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ambelopoulia = Black Caps

[edit]

Ambelopoulia is not the name of a food; it is rather the greek- cypriot name for the black cap. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.109.75.88 (talk) 16:47, 25 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think this would be a decent illustration of the dish. https://www.flickr.com/photos/jorge-11/4864792119/sizes/l/

It's CC BY licensed, so somebody could plop that onto Commons and then use it in the different language wiki articles.

I would do it myself but I can't at the moment. Thank you.
